The reason the Republican party can't do the same is because they are a bunch of quivering P***Ys who are afraid the big bad media is going to do bad stories about them.

No, the real reason the GOP in Washington does what it does is because either- they agree with Obama and the Democrats, and heartily support them but don't want to admit it so they can get re-elected by (in their mind) "the idiots at home", or.....

The Obama White House has Secret NSA files on everybody in Washington, and they have stuff on John Boner and Yertle McConnell and they're just Valerie Jarrett's sock-puppets.

Not that I support Cruz who actively supported TPA and the corker bill

Oh, it’s one of the Trump 3rd graders. Come to the adult discussion, did you? See you brought your crayons, to scribble nonsense on the walls.

My, how clever.

You know what I don’t get about shutdowns? If it’s 2 months away from an election, that’s one thing. But you’re a year away. So, you shutdown the gov’t for a few weeks? Who the hell is going to remember in November 2016?

Message to Tom Coburn: The reason Cruz could not do what he tried to do is because we have corrupt Republican liars who betrayed the voters so they could make big money deals and also hold onto the issue for elections. Screw all of you who think you can hoodwink the American people and make them suffer. Screw you for bashing Ted Cruz when he tried to make a difference and got no support from those who could have supported him. Your lies don’t work anymore. We are more than paying attention and we know who is honest and who is lieing. We no longer look to any of you to keep your promises and we won’t get fooled again. I hope Trump and Cruz have a chance to kick some lieing butts soon and keep kicking them every day. We know all of you only bow down to the lobbyists and leave us in the dust after the elections so we are done with you. Prepare for a butt kicking.

Thankfully he resigned early. He got assimilated into the hive and forgot why he was sent to DC in 1994. What a shame.

Well, this might give some insight:
Dec. 2014
“I am proud of our country for electing
Barack Obama . … It says something about us … [that] America’s special: Barack Obama, president of the United States,” Mr. Coburn said, Newsmax reported.

Mr. Coburn and Mr. Obama have been on friendly terms — despite the political differences — since 2005, during Mr. Obama ’s freshman orientation into the Senate, Newsmax reported.
“[Our friendship’s] based on the fact that I think he genuinely is a very smart, nice guy,” Mr. Coburn said. “I think he’s a neat man.

I do not dispute that there may very well be some of that as well. It is certainly a plausible idea. Obama does everything by the "Chicago Way."

I didn't think it would work on a National scale in the US, but I didn't realize at the time that the Watchdogs (media) were the people who pushed him into office, and therefore would not report the corruption and thuggery that his regime has implemented as policy.

Golly gee, Tom, shame on Ted for believing that the Republicans really wanted to defund obamacare. Shame on him for believing they wanted to as much as he did. Tom turned squishy a few years ago - he used to be a solid conservative - then started throwing in with the DEMS. Get lost - Tom - your time is up.

It makes me think they don’t want to do what they say when they are campaigning.

*************************************

It’s called ‘say whatever you have to say to get re-elected’, then you can go about business as usual ... which is certainly not the people’s business, but the business of whoever can write you the largest checks (Chamber of Commerce, etc.).

What more can Cruz do?

Be realistic with his claims.

""I came out of the Senate with one of the most conservative ratings ever in the history of the Senate....
"And yet, I compromised all the time to accomplish things that were good for the country."

When did the Democrats ever reciprocate and compromise on any conservative legislation that the Republicans wanted passed?
Waiting ........................................ Yeah, that's what I thought.

Wow, your method of debate is impressive. I thought you might do something crazy, like dispute the facts. But no, name calling is all you got.

What is he talking about. The idiots campaigned on what they were going to do and did not do it. They did not do it because “they could not win.” Sometimes fighting, win or not, serves a useful purpose.

Tom Coburn has been around for soooooo long. I can remember when he was still a conservative-—decades ago. One more who went to Washington to be corrupted. “Compromised” is just another synonym for “sold out.” Stick a fork in him. He’s done!
