Smoking gun emails reveal Blair's 'deal in blood' with George Bush over Iraq (tr)

A bombshell White House memo has revealed for the first time details of the ‘deal in blood’ forged by Tony Blair and George Bush over the Iraq War.

The sensational leak shows that Blair had given an unqualified pledge to sign up to the conflict a year before the invasion started.

It flies in the face of the Prime Minister’s public claims at the time that he was seeking a diplomatic solution to the crisis.

He told voters: ‘We’re not proposing military action’ – in direct contrast to what the secret email now reveals.

So distrusting GWB's and Tony Blair's motives and tactics turns out to be not so crazy after all. I wonder what else they lied to us about?

I miss old school nationalism. The creepy transnational types are adverse to all people everywhere who are not in their circle.

Preparing for military action is not mutually exclusive from also trying all diplomatic options
It is smart to have both options
No lies in that memo

Makes me wonder if she was fishing for information to use against the Republicans or Jeb should he win the party nomination. Remember the FBI Files?

Read the article. Right there is says that this information was released by Hillary Clinton. That mere fact should set off alarm bells that none of this is true and only the latest Clinton effort to hurt President Bush and insult every American that fought in Iraq for our freedom.

“Instead, Powell says that Blair will also advise on how to ‘handle calls’ for the ‘blessing’ of the United Nations Security Council, and to ‘demonstrate that we have thought through “the day after” ’ – in other words, made adequate provision for a post-Saddam Iraq.”

I happened to be working at an Intelligence Community Activity during the period of “post-Saddam Iraq” and it was clear that there was no plan to handle the vacuum that was created when Saddam’s forces collapsed. “Let them loot” was not a plan.

“The documents, obtained by The Mail on Sunday, are part of a batch of secret emails held on the private server of Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton which U.S. courts have forced her to reveal.”

So you want to believe that Hillary Clinton fabricated a memo attachment marked SECRET/NOFORN and put it on her private email server, in such a way as to make her liable for prosecution for mishandling classified information, so that she could embarrass her hubby’s best friends George W.Bush and Tony Blair?

If I recall, President Clinton was already talking about Iraq WMDs. Why wouldn’t Bush want to have allies ready for multiple other contingencies?

They were preparing for war, but that doesn’t mean they were committed to war. I’ve worked on detailed war plans - and none of them have turned into reality.

You do not just wake up one day and start fighting a war 10,000 miles away.

[[They were preparing for war, but that doesn’t mean they were committed to war.]]

Exactly- It’s very likely that evidence against Saddam was mounting by the day during these years, and Bush was preparing for war and asked for nations to commit SHOULD it come down to actual war- Saddam was violating international treaties, and was continually firing on our jets In the area during these times, and exclaiming he was wanting a war with us- That and the fact that we had Iraqi citizen after another testifying before congress that Saddam was committing MASSIVE human rights violations against his own people, plus reports coming out about wmd’s and seeing him use those wmd’s against his own people-

And from what I understand, The leaked wikileaks stuff show that Saddam actually did have them-

She can blatt all she likes about the agreement between Tony and George, but the fact is, as you say, that we were simply preparing for the worst, and hoping for the best- Smart strategy no matter how you slice it
