And we can’t necessarily console ourselves with the hope that we will have more answers any time soon; to this day, the final volume of the C.I.A.’s official history of the Bay of Pigs remains classified. The freedom-fighters were slaughtered on the beach because the kennedy brothers reneged on their promise to give USA air support to the landing.

Somehow, Castro knew in advance of the landing but no one knows how he discovered that. It was more than likely insider-info/a turncoat within the ranks of the freedom-fighters.

The story was lame from the start.

I understand “the fog of war” and how stories would change shortly after the fact. But this whole thing just smelled from the start.

I still don’t think this is the real story.
