Chairman of the House Select Committee on Benghazi Trey Gowdy wasted no words while explaining clearly and convincingly the purpose of the committee’s investigation and the reason former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton was called to testify on Thursday.
“Madame Secretary, I understand some people — frankly in both parties — have suggested this investigation is about you,” Gowdy said in his opening statement. “Let me assure you it is not. And let me assure you why it is not. This work is about something much more important than any single person. It is about four U.S. government workers, including our Ambassador, murdered by terrorists on foreign soil. It is about what happened before, during, and after the attacks that killed these four men.”
The chairman was clearly seeking to refocus the public’s attention on why the committee was established following Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy’s gaffe late last month, which Hillary Clinton and supporters used to argue the Republicans are mainly seeking to hurt her presidential bid through the investigation.
“Not a single member of this Committee signed up for an investigation into you or your email system. We signed up because we wanted to honor the service and sacrifice of four people sent to a foreign land to represent us – who were killed – and do everything we can to prevent it from happening to others,” he said.

It is because we elect new “leaders” every few years, who are chosen because of their media-driven popularity, NOT their competence. Our educational system has failed.

The freaking OJ trial didn’t take this long. We go weeks between hearing squat and when we do it’s about someone taking the 5th, Hillary setting terms or the rest. Oh and Gowdy writing a sternly worded letter.

What I heard was that the USAF filed international flight plans for the bombing raids which were distributed within the membership of whatever organization it was. While North Vietnam was not a member, the Soviets were, and they gave Hanoi the heads up.
Anything not favorable to Hillary will disappear down the MSM memory hole.

The reason for the split assessment is that Cummings provided a planned distraction just prior to the break, as Gowdy was about to land a round-house.

Gowdy may never be able to prove that the Benghazi attackers were aided and encouraged by the OZero “administration.” But it’s pretty clear to even the casual observer that that was the case.

Gowdy said these hearings were not a prosecution but an investigation. Yes, but what if it were ?
Why not make it a trial with Clinton as the defendant ? Her defense counselors would naturally be her democrat cohorts on the committee.
But the prosecutor would be one man - Gowdy, Jordan, whoever - instead of a bevy of 5 minute interrogators for Hillary to swat away. Every republican rep could give his time to Gowdy or whoever to make a powerful single-minded, deliberate, ironclad case against the then Secretary of State. One proeecutor taking his case against Hillary like in an actual trial.
That is the only way to get to the bottom of Benghazi and Hillary’s guilt.

People who know the Clintons know they're filthy as hell. The reason she isn't going to spend any time in jail for it it isn't because she's done nothing wrong. It's because of a) morons like your friends, who don't care about the facts b) Democrats obstructing the investigation and c) hand-wringing "conservatives" whining about "nothing will come of this so let's just never do anything about anything."
