Jeb Bush Continues “Death Spiral” At GOP Debate
Buzzfeed ^ | 11/28/15 | McKay Coppins

An ill-fated attack on Marco Rubio was followed by a quiet, and at times awkward, performance for Bush - who badly needed a good night.

Jeb Bush's beleaguered presidential campaign was dealt another blow at Wednesday's Republican primary debate when the candidate's high-stakes gambit to attack an opponent he once considered his protege badly backfired.

Bush entered the CNBC-hosted debate with stubbornly lackluster poll numbers, unimpressive fundraising, and some of the worst press he has received all year - fueled by morbid anonymous quotes from skittish donors and allies. As one Bush fundraiser memorably told the Washington Post last week, "It feels very much like a death spiral, and it breaks my heart."

Bush looked to escape the "death spiral" - and revive his supporters' confidence in his 2016 viability - with a commanding debate performance Wednesday, which included lambasting Marco Rubio for his record of skipping Senate votes.

He came across like the whole debate was beneath him. He shares that trait with Hillary.

I agree with Bush on the substance of his criticism of Rubio for not showing up for work. But Bush handled it poorly, and handled the response-to-the-response extremely poorly.

Kind of reminds me of when Perry attacked Romney for having wet-back lawn-care workers. Romney smashed Perry’s face into the pavement in response, making Perry look weaker than ever, and extremely petty.

Although this issue is not petty — government workers making big government bucks should show up for work — Bush ended up looking almost as face-smashed as Perry did.

Bush is this years Rick Perry. The only thing he’s lacking — that Perry had — was the support of our own CW.

He displayed an impressive fantasy football record last night.

His parents should get him a job as a K Street lobbyist for FanDuel.

When Bush attacked Rubio last night, it almost seemed that Bush wanted to be knocked-out.

Which leads me to this theory.

Rubio is the GOP-Elites choice after Bush. Just maybe the GOP-Elites had told Bush to make this foolish attack on Rubio so Rubio can replace him as the elites choice.

Is not Rubio's wife a member of the CFR?

JEB! is the real thing - he is the swan song of the liberal new world order (read my lips no new taxes, and a new world order) wing of the Repubilcrat party.

Pay back for the lies of GHWB and W. Couldn’t happen to a more deserving family. He can be Hillary’s Secretary of State.

Good point. Rubio is a slick one, his whole performance was as if he sprouted memorized lines.

Next debate is on Fox Business Network on November 10th.

Neil Cavuto, Maria Bartiromo, and Wall Street Journal editor in chief Gerard Baker are moderators.

Gerard Baker is a Bush butt buddy and hates Trump with a passion.

“He came across like the whole debate was beneath him.”

I thought he came across as simply being bewildered as to why he was there and what he was supposed to be doing about it.

“Death Spiral”

That’s a great visual. Sounds like his girth and arrogance is causing him to collapse in on himself the same a dead star creates a black hole.

********************************
That all he does! He misses the Senate briefings and votes because he’s busy memorizing scripts that others have written for him. He comes across like a ventriliquist’s (sp?) dummy!
