On Saturday evening, a man wearing a mask walked into a South Side Chicago bodega, pulled out a gun and announced a robbery.
As the robber pointed his gun at the store’s employees, however, a customer pulled out his own gun.
The robber's gun, it turns out, was fake.
The customer's was not.
Now the robbery suspect is dead, gunned down by the concealed-weapon-toting customer.
The case is the latest in a string of incidents across the country in which bystanders have pulled out their concealed weapons and used them against suspected criminals. Some cases have drawn heavy scrutiny, such as an Oct. 6 incident at a Home Depot near Detroit when a woman with a concealed weapons permit fired at fleeing shoplifters. She was charged with recklessly using her handgun.

That was my original thought too. Shooting to stop an armed robbery...kinda iffy with some juries.
But I read elsewhere that the CCW individual only shot after the perp started herding store employees into a back room. That rarely ends well. So I think the CCW guy will be OK.

Robberies go down when people are allowed to carry concealed firearms. That is just a fact.

A bodega is a small grocery store, kind of like a mini-mart, especially in a Spanish-speaking neighborhood.
Why don’t they just call is a “grocery store?”
1. (especially among Spanish-speaking Americans) a grocery store.
2. a wine shop.
3. a warehouse for storing or aging wine.

the poor robber should have been treated with respect and compassion. The vic should have turned over all his money. It’s just money. This is a man’s life that we are talking about.

The gun-grabbers claim this never happens. They lie, and the media lies with them.
The robber wasn’t “gunned down” as reported by the wapo. He was a threat and was stopped by a legally armed citizen. I practice 5 round groups when self defense training, 3 rd Mozambique at 3m or less. So the statement of multiple rounds and shoot to wound is from someone who thinks tv I real. The person in Detroit is an idiot.
