Trump continues to lead the Republican field, though for the second consecutive week his level of support has dropped. The bombastic billionaire takes 31 percent of the vote among Republicans and Republican-leaning independents, while Carson clocks in at 21 percent. Cruz takes third place, at 9 percent of the vote, just ahead of Rubio and Bush, who tie at 7 percent. No other contender tops 5 percent of the vote.

Trump ping
The near universal derogation and demeaning of Trump of beginning to have an effect.
I don’t know his strategy to combat that, but I expect we’ll be seeing it shortly. Personally, I would run some of those biography type ads that acquaint folks with stellar achievements.
Although I’ve never personally met a single Carson supporter, I guess they are out there. Trump needs to research what is actually liked about the product he is selling. My guess is that it’s an unknown product, and that it’s the continual repetition by the media that Carson is a nice, easy-going expert in his field of medicine.
Mannatech Ben, pro-amnesty FReepers hit hardest.
I'll tell you what the strategy is - counteract the nonsense at the demotic level.
Have people in your church who are Carson supporters because they think "Trump is mean" and "Carson is a good Christian"? Point out that Carson is SDA, that he rejects the finished work of Jesus Christ and therefore, by definition, cannot be a "good Christian." If they balk at your "attacking" his religion, just remind them that they're the ones who brought it up to begin with as a reason to vote FOR Carson.
Point out that Trump is the GOP candidate who is really for the regular Joe America, and who is against the globalisation that basically supports the groundwork upon which the antichrist's kingdom will be built. A vote for Trump is a vote against the antichrist - quite literally.
Etc., etc. etc.
I didn’t see the discussion re the NBC poll, but was it mentioned that it was a national poll of only 400, Ã/-5? I think they hid the internals.
Plus or minus 5 points, for clarification.
I, too, have looked all over for a link to the internals, and I can’t find that link anyplace.
Always a rule of thumb is that if they don’t reveal what they’re doing, then it is invalid automatically.
I could live with Trumps votes going to Cruz or Carson. With regard to Carson, I think he will eventually fade and most of his votes will be back to Trump. The mainstream candidates do appear to be screwed.
You didn’t look very hard.
The Morning Consult weekly tracking poll surveyed 2,350 registered voters between October 29 and November 1, for an overall margin of error of plus or minus 2 percentage points. Subsamples of 937 Republicans and Republican-leaning independents, and of 1,015 Democrats and Democratic-leaning independents, carried margins of error of plus or minus 3.2 percentage points and 3.1 percentage points, respectively.
Folks I know do not like trump because of his progressive policy, he may be mean, that’s not the problem. Progressivism is the problem.
I read the same thing on Breitbart. Nobody there could find the internals either, and agreed there is no good reason to conceal them...only bad reasons.
We were discussing the NBC poll.
Morning consult usually puts internals in a link embedded in the story. Last week there was a 150 page PDF file. If someone finds it please post link.
So, according to the internals, they sampled more “democrat-leaning independents” than Republicans?!? Correct me if I’m interpreting this wrong.
That’s not the internals
It includes the questions, the weightings, the methodology
I think the 40% of two weeks ago was high. The real number is 33-36% range. The have a methodology which produces volatility. Carson’s number is rising, but in my circle of folks the non Trump people are for Rubio except one tenacious Libertarian soul still for Rand.
Well, then they are ignorant. Educate them.
Seriously, I don’t know what the hell is wrong with people who can look at a guy who is actually talking about ACCOMPLISHING the most conservative reforms this country has seen in 100 years and toss that aside because he isn’t ‘perfect enough’.
It’s almost like they would rather be lied to than actually accomplish anything that they SAY they believe.
[Although Iâve never personally met a single Carson supporter, I guess they are out there.]
Get the word about via social media about CARSON. He is NOT a conservative.
CARSON has made conflicting statements regarding abortion issues as well as disturbing views on medical treatment for the elderly. Recent statements say he is 100%, however, his writings and statements show another side. Could it be his original sentiments are affecting his candidacy?
The Conservative Review has an unbiased rating of candidates based on their quotes and writings. Carson has received a BAD rating on immigration and foreign affairs. Go to the site to read the comments.

BEN CARSON - ON MEDICAL CARE FOR THE ELDERLY
(He is for a panel to decide which seniors deserve lifesaving treatment/end of life care, and which ones do not.)
[[Our mind-set is to automatically pull out all medical stops, even if that means literally torturing loved ones during their last few months of life. What if rather than always putting terminally ill patients in intensive care units, where we poke, prod, test, and operate ad nauseum, we allowed most people the dignity of dying in relative peace and comfort, at home, surrounded by loved ones, with hospice care or some other medical attendant if necessary?
Agreement on who should be treated and who should not be treated would require an extensive national discussion that could hopefully result in some helpful basic guidelines. Obviously any such guidelines should allow for flexibility and choice. And decisions should be based not merely on age but on the viability of the patient. (From his 1999 book, The Big Picture.)]]
BEN CARSON - ON SOCIAL ISSUES
Carson has expressed support for same-sex civil unions, and following the Supreme Court’s ruling legalizing gay marriage in all 50 states, he conceded the fight was over by declaring the ruling the is the law of the land.ââ¬Â (Newsmax)
Despite maintaining a strong pro-life record, in a 1992 interview, Dr. Carson said that while he does not perform abortions, he personally referred women seeking abortions to other doctors. In the same interview, he said that he would never advocate it is illegal for a person to get an abortion. (Baltimore Sun)
Dr. Carson co-authored a medical research paper in 1992 where he outlined his support for the use of aborted baby organs for research purposes. Carson defended his past statements, saying: To not use the tissue that is in a tissue bank, regardless of where it comes from, would be foolish. Why would anybody not do that?
Numerous conservatives have expressed that by providing the demand that abortion providers will supply the market and that participating in this practice is being complicit. (Life Site News)
As revelations came to light about Dr. Carson referring the mothers of unborn children with potential birth defects to abortionists, his campaign defended the practice. A campaign spokesman said: He [Carson] believes in quality medical care, No. 1, and secondly, he believes in people making their own decisions based on facts and information.
Pressed on whether Carson stands by his decision to do so, the same spokesman said yes. The statement is particularly troubling given that pro-abortion proponents use similar language regarding a decision between the patient and their doctor, but not mentioning the life of the child. (Politico)
Since news surfaced of a 1992 research paper co-authored by Dr. Carson that included the use of fetal tissue, Carson’s stance on abortion has come under immense scrutiny and his defense of his previous medical decisions has been troubling to many in the pro-life movement.
When asked if Carson stands by his past decision to refer patients to abortion doctors,Carson’s Communications Director said: He believes in quality medical care, No. 1, and secondly, he believes in people making their own decisions based on facts and information. Additionally, the spokesman went on to say that Carson believes that you cannot stop abortion by making it illegal. The spokesman told Politico: He [Carson] has always believed that the battle over abortion had to be waged in the hearts and minds of Americans, that you cannot legislate morality. But he also believes we are winning the debate.(Politico)
In the 1990s, Carson was a board member of the Baltimore Charitable Foundation which gave $200,000 in grants to Planned Parenthood. When confronted with this fact, and asked if Carson knew about the grants a spokesman said: âIt does nott really matter. (Politico)
When asked if he would support abortion in the case of incest or rape, Dr. Carson said: I would hope that they would very quickly avail themselves of the emergency room, and in the emergency room, they have the ability to administer RU-486 and other possibilities before you have a developing fetus.
RU-486 is an abortifacient that kills a fertilized egg by artificially denying it the ability to attach to the uterine wall. Using Dr.Carson’s own standard of life beginning at conception, this would then constitute murder. (Politico)
During the campaign Dr. Carson has struggled to define when he believes life begins. He told ABC News that life begins when the heart stops beating, but later clarified that he meant conception. (Politico)
