The problem is each story chips away at his reputation for honesty. They are palinizing him. So he lied about a stupid class at Yale? Who cares right? OK, well add that to being held at gunpoint at Popeye’s. No evidence. The stabbing, hammer, rocks, bricks of his youth. No evidence. The sheltering white students during a high school race riot mentioned in the WSJ story. No evidence. Now you get into the kooky pyramid grain stuff. The creationism evolution debate. Transgender bathrooms. Support for TPP. Support for amnesty. and on and on and on.
I get people here hate politico and want to rally around Carson today but objectively the guy is a walking disaster area as a candidate. He’s not going to be the nominee.
The media is going to do that to any candidate who takes the lead.

These people are nuts.
Looks like Carson is going to be another “Great Disappointment”

I agree with that statement and all else in your posting!
>> the guy is a walking disaster area as a candidate.
That’s it for me.
It’s not any one incident — it’s the preponderance of ALL the incidents that point to a character of embellishment.
And there’s a clear motive — sell his nine books. I understand that, and I understand that he’s far from the only one who has done that. MOST authors probably do it.
Carson is not evil. Far from it — he is a good man and he has been a blessing in the lives of countless others. On balance, he has done more good with HIS life than I have with mine. (Thank GOD we’re both forgiven!)
But Ben Carson is not the best candidate for President in these troubled times, when we’re struggling to recover the soul of America. (Ted Cruz is. Donald Trump is acceptable.) His positions and ideals do not match what this country needs. His temperament does not match what this country needs. The final serious problem: in my opinion, Carson doesn’t have a prayer of defeating spawn of satan Hillary clintoon. She’ll beat him like a rented mule in the general.
I’d like to see Ben Carson leave the race as soon as possible along with about eight to ten others. I’m not the least bit ashamed of that position. If he clings to his false hope by his fingernails and they have to be pried away by a nasty press, then so be it.
Then let him show everybody that by his policy preferences instead of jumping on speculation while we wait for the research to come out and be tested. All I see here is a bunch of Dupes for Donald grasping at straws (hence the Politico West Point debacle). If they applied as much scrutiny to what he says in terms of how he can spin it later when the deal turns out not to be what they expected, they wouldn't be so sanguine.
You are of course totally wrong..... he is a great candidate. It is because of his greatness that such great effort is being made to eliminate him
The rats with the aid of extremely gullible conservative friends eliminate what is dangerous to them

Yes, the unfortunate truth is that the world of modern Presidential politics is its own arena, and is brutally scrutinizing towards anyone who is coming in from the non-political world. This is why I have accepted that we are better off with the most conservative true politician we can get, who, IMO, is Cruz.
It’s almost as if politicians get some sort of a morality “pass”, as it is sort of expected and assumed that they will connive, make deals, dodge, and fudge the truth along the way, as they play the political game. But if you come in as a business person, doctor, or otherwise from the non-political world, you are going to be held to an incredible standard. It’s not fair, but it seems to be the case.
Also, with regard to Carson, the picture I am starting to get of him is that he was an incredibly ambitious young man, and once he charted his path, he may have been unable to resist embellishing, if not fabricating, stories that would enhance his ability to sell his narrative of his life story. At this point, the anal exam he has thus far received is going to turn into a full colonoscopy.
We hear your voice, O Master, we hear your summons to rally to the RiNO's. We hear and obey!
Not.
Stuff both of you..... Carson's not my favorite guy, but I see what you and your fellow cyborgs at WSJ are doing, and any decent human being must contract a shivering horror at manipulators and liars like you, servants of godless, pitiless Money.
Screw you, screw your godlings and your god.
And screw Karl Rove. Tell him I said, "Hi, drop dead."
