So true. History repeats itself - it comes out screaming - here I come and people respond the same over and over again. You know what they say about repetition and same results.

I gave up eating popcorn, when I went on my Paleo/MIND/DASH diet a year+ ago. So, I will enjoy some fine California Red Wine and some of the good snacks my wife prepares, if this happens.

It all started at home. At some point, parenting became a competition. Participation trophies are the result of parental demands in order to make the *parents* feel successful under the guise of enhanced childhood self-esteem. Many parents so desperately want to believe the child *they* created and raised is superior in every way and, in their minds, an undeserved cheap plastic trophy enables them to keep that fantasy alive.

A normal parent realizes that nothing builds true self-esteem like actually earning something. That tells me it’s actually all about the parents’ self-esteem.

The Tom Wolfe book also came to my mind, as did the student organization SWINE (Students Wildly Indignant about Nearly Everything) from Al Capps Lil' Abner comic strip from the Sunday paper when I was a kid.

I found it interesting that the students said creating a home for them was more important than intellectual stimulation. A home! Like the ones they came from. Where Mommy and Daddy patted them on the head and sent out newsletters if they remembered to breathe without being prompted. And throwing a temper tantrums got them their way because Mommy and Daddy wanted their child to LIKE them and be their FRIEND.

The earliest portrayals of soviet labor camps I can remember were from Al Capp’s strip too. Few people even mention Al Capp anymore. He was one of the earliest victims of PC I know of...airbrushed right out of the culture by the nascent American left. The Mizzou matter like almost every other political development in this country is surreal.

Her emotions were at temper tantrum toddler level.

How did that sociopath get into the University?

The deadly combination of "PC" and Affirmative Action
