Missou Professor Dale Brigham resigned this week following outrage over his refusal to cancel an exam on campus.

Missouri Professor Dale Brigham

A beloved University of Missouri professor resigned after he refused to cancel a school exam during the hunger strike and athlete’s boycott.
Campus Reform reported:

Dr. Dale Brigham, considered one of the most beloved professors at the University of Missouri, has resigned after refusing to cancel an exam for students who claimed to feel “unsafe.”

“If you don’t feel safe coming to class, then don’t come to class,” Dr. Brigham told his students. “I will be there, and there will be an exam administered in our class,” he continued, imploring his students to stand up to the bullies on campus. “If you give into bullies, they win. The only way bullies are defeated is by standing up to them.”dale brigham

Dr. Brigham was sharply criticized in the media for requiring his students to attend class and take their exam. Salon ran a story with the headline “White Missouri professor shames black students for heeding violent threats.”The Washington Post featured similar coverage of “a white professor” who “challenged his students to come to class.”

Those upset with Dr. Brigham’s decision to hold class took to Twitter calling for Brigham to be firedand calling him “a failure as a human being.”

Under intense pressure, Dr. Brigham has both cancelled the exam and resigned from the university, according to screenshots posted online of an email from Dr. Brigham to his students.

Now this…
The race activist who was responsible for getting Professor Brigham to resign does not even attend Mizzou and lives in Houston.

She was celebrating tonight.

I'm a bad person making a white professor resign from his job, but when white police fatally shoot black males for no reason, it's justice?

Well, he’s not on Wikipedia ... yet. Maybe he can qualify for inclusion now.

White Caucasians suck! If not for them we could all be living in 'paradise' just like this modern Ugandan utopia.

SHAME ON US!!!

I would imagine there aren’t any NFL prospects on this Missouri team.

There is no way to prevent a team from striking. A school could cancel scholarships, I guess, but that does nothing to prevent the massive financial loss. Schools just need to become independent if they wish to be independent. If players were being paid to play, they might be less likely to strike. Maybe that is where this will take us.

Or just cancel the athletics program entirely.

I sure as well would not even look.

If this Institution caved so easily for no reason, I need no product from it.

I don’t quite understand his decision to resign his position. He earned his bachelor’s degree in 1977 at Texas A & M, so he is about 60...maybe he is in a position to take early retirement, or else believes he can find a comparable position somewhere else.

Yes, just decide that the university has a larger purpose - education. That is one possible answer.

You don’t do that with extortion demands.

You face them.

He has done a serious disservice to the University of Missouri.

Based on his actions, in the face of faux adversity, he was limp. With this sort of weakness, he shouldn’t have been serving as President of the University.

I’m just saying...

Imagine you are him.

You tell your students “I am going to give the exam. I would encourage you to come and take it. If you don’t feel safe, then don’t come. But I am going to take a stand against this fear and I encourage you to do the same.”

In response you get threatened by non-students, threatened by students, threatened by the administration all because you didn’t cancel the class.

Is it worth it to stay? Do you see any choice you have but to capitulate to their demands or face an ever increasing barrage of threats and harassment?

No. You tell them “F__k you!” and walk out the door. They (students) don’t want to learn? Fine. Don’t learn. They (administration) don’t want you to teach? Fine. You won’t teach. They (non-student morons) want to threaten and harass you? Fine. I quit.

Shake the dust from your feet and leave the building before it completely burns down.

This is just the beginning and will spread quickly through academia.

You are right. I think it speaks of a long period before war.

It is a political period.

The problem is not the loss of 1M if the football team did not play.

The problem is the football team is in the middle of a losing season. The football players are losing on the field and flunking in the classroom.

Blaming whitey is now they respond.
