Wars don’t generally start and stop the way we learn them in history classes. World War I arguably started long, long before Arch Duke Ferdinand was assassinated. There was a series of smaller wars leading up to it starting around 1905 between Italy and some African holdings of the Ottomans. Then there were significant conflicts in the Balkans up until 1913. Then came the assassination which “started” the bigger war, but believe me, plenty of people had already died.
World War II could also have started with the Japanese invasion of Mongolia. In the Europe it probably started with the Sudeten annexation, but I’m sure others would say earlier.
My point is that World War III has been simmering on a back burner and I’d lay the blame with Jimmy Carter helping to depose the Shah of Iran.
Why would Putin wish this. There is a constant tendency to see the apocalypse in every flurry of evil, and that’s been going on since the early church. I’m missing a part of the set-up to this. He might want to Christianize Israel, but what has it done to Russia that he wants to avenge. Please explain more.
I doubt that Russia will be involved to that extent. What's in it for them? Iran, on the other hand, has a doctrine that requires them to do so.
Opposite. Russia will provoke Turkey and Islam will war with Russia.
