Reid calls NRA 'quasi-militant wing' of Republican Party

WASHINGTON — One day after 14 people were slain in a mass shooting in San Bernardino, Calif., Senate Democratic Leader Harry Reid on Thursday blamed lawmakers for not acting on an "epidemic of gun violence" and described the National Rife Association as the Republican Party's "quasi-militant wing."

"Republicans must decide if they are more scared of gun violence or the NRA," the Nevadan said.

Delivering his comments on the Senate floor, Reid ticked off a list of some of the nation's deadliest mass shootings in recent years that included the young students killed at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Conn., as well as the victims of massacres at Fort Hood, Texas, Aurora, Colo., and Washington, D.C.

Reid also included shootings in Las Vegas that left three people dead, including two police officers, and in Carson City, which left four dead.

He cited statistics showing there have been 355 mass shootings so far this year, which means the U.S. is averaging more than one a day.

NRA must have pulled its funding from a couple of key RATS.
Finally they seem to have realized that pandering to Reid was foolish.

By making his comments on the floor of the senate he avoids a slander lawsuit.

“Quasi” hell! It’s the FULLY militant arm. And I for one am darned glad it is. Because there’s an equally militant group on the Left who wants to take away our rights ... a group that includes Harry “Luke Gubrious” Reid.

I don’t think the GOP needs to decide who they’re more scared of. I think they need to decide NOT to be scared at all. And the best way to do that is by fighting back, which is hard to do if you bring a spork to a gun fight.

So you go ahead and decide who’s going to make you wet your diaper, Harry. We adults will take care of the country.

Well...if any of us end up being a victim of one of these terrorist shootings....would you want Reid or an NRA member coming to your rescue? How many of those first responders and their families are NRA members, I wonder?

When has someone like Reid ever ran toward a crime to help another person? NEVER!

So Moron leadership at the NRA, going to ask for your campaign donations to Reid back now?

I guess Harry doesn't need their endorsement anymore.

But will the NRA give it to him anyway just for old times sake?

They probably do that so they aren’t painted as a Republican organization.

If that is why they are doing it, then they are wasting their time. The media paints them as a Republican Organization every opportunity.

I’ll be buying more guns now that Obama has imported Islamic terrorists to America. Only self defense will protect individuals and slow the spread of Islamic terror.

Well, optimistically, it sure is a good thing that Chris Cox and the boys at the NRA/ILA decided they could do business with ol’ Dingy Harry and helped him get reelected, otherwise think of what he’d REALLY be saying about them.
