We should allow deliberative criticism, and if a politician backs up slanderers or taunts a slander victim, then the gloves should come off for a few weeks.
I’ve been a Cruz supporter until this week, and now I’m losing a little respect for Cruz for not backing up Trump’s Islam/Refugee plan. Common sense.
I had trouble imagining any leader having this kind of courage.
But my loss of respect is not a slam. I understand the political caution. FRegards ....

Better yet, thank those who risk big by supporting an opinion different than your own.
We have ALL been right/wrong at one time or another.
Personally I think a Trump/Cruz ticket is a winner I have been wrong in the past.

I worked the last 2 presidential campaigns. I was on FR pleading and begging people to go vote (McCain/Romney). You aint seen ugly til you ask somebody on Free Republic to please vote for one of those clowns. I was called every name in the book....and then some. This election I back Cruz but have no objection to a President Trump. Either will do. They have more similarities then differences. One is more conservative - one is more liberal. One is polished - one is alittle brash. But on the big issues I think they mostly agree. If neither of those is the candidate, I will sit home and pray for our Country. No more settling for the lesser evil.

Name calling (personal attacks towards FReepers) are what has, from what I’ve seen, gotten out of hand. Most of those posts, thankfully, get pulled, from what I can tell. It’s a lib tactic used (to attempt) to shut down discussion.
