For months, Donald Trump has led the most successful push back against the Republican Establishment in recent history. For good measure, he has set political correctness back a few decades â and also taught conservatives and Republicans that they need not fear the media.
All of which are remarkable and important. All of those are part of the reason for even running the "Rove-Stupid" series of article. Conservatives owe him a debt for all this, even if he were to accomplish nothing else. These wonderful assaults have all come from the right. This is why I would support Trump against any Democrat and most Republicans.
But then there's this bizarre weekend â when Trump managed to go full establishment â or perhaps even further left â against Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX)97%, the oil industry, conservatives in the Senate and Antonin Scalia. In case you missed it, Trump criticized Cruz for opposing ethanol subsidies and insisted that Cruz only does so due to his ties to big oil. This was not only a shameless liberal pander to the Iowa ethanol interests, it was using a left wing talking point against Cruz.
Republicans have supported ethanol in the past, but I can't remember any of them accusing opponents of being merely tools of big oil.
With a Donald Trump like that, who needs Barack Obama or Rachel Maddow?
If that wasn't enough, on Sunday he said Cruz is a "little bit of a maniac" with the implication being that Cruz' refusal to play nice with Sen. Harry Reid and Sen. Mitch McConnell in the Senate was the result of a Cruz character flaw. This sounds like something off Lindsey Graham's website, or something John McCain would say on Fox News Sunday. I was waiting for him to call Cruz a wacko bird.

Watching Sununu tell the world that politics is a team sport. Trump is not supporting the Party team. I am not supporting the team that Sununu is on either. Please call me today for money so I can make sure I tell “the Party” again.
Perhaps Trump can bring on John MeCain to trash Cruz supporters as “Wacko Birds”.
The press is trying SO HARD to start a fight between Trump and Cruz.
And Rubio is laughing off to the side and waiting for his opening to rush to the rescue of the RINO’s.
A fight between Cruz and Trump can only help Cruz.
Conservatives owe him a debt for all this, even if he were to accomplish nothing else".
CANNOT be stressed enough....CANNOT!!!!!
Looks like they may have hatched out a divide and conquer plan for Bubba's wife to end up in the WH.
Clinton's base is solid and none of the attacks Trump has tossed her direction are going to change that. The only chance she has is for the opposition to split. That is happening.
Breitbart is paid by Cruz. Cruz is a phony. He joined the NRSC in 2013, campaigned for no conservatives, wanted to increase 500k visas for foreign workers, voted for tPA, voted fo rCorker bill..the guy is a phony
He joins Beck on the Border, who calls Sarah Palin a clown? Sorry Crux your not fooling me
Left-wing talking points are nothing new to Trump.
Trump really ticked me off here but I paused for a minute. Cruz started this with his very inflammatory comment subtly directed at Trump about âwho do you trust with their finger on the button.â Cruz took this narrative from the GOPe and the bottom line is that it questions Trump’s stability. A very low blow, just like Trumps. Cruz has blood on his hands also. And he started it.
Rove is a stupid fathead who should shRove that little message board up his ample ass.
This is true. And Trump is the ONLY one who is falling for it.

Trump to Cruz: Nobody Likes You
As Cruz rises in presidential polls, Trump calls him 'maniac'
Scalia? He trashed Scalia by saying he liked Thomas the most of the three conservatives on SCOTUS? Please explain.
It is perplexing to say the least. Why at this early point in the game one of the two who seem to have an edge now against the evil GOPe of Bush, Kasich, Christie, Graham, et al has to go on the attack against the other - or so media might have us believe - isn’t exactly clear.
Truthfully, I’ve haven’t had the time nor inclination to delve into the whys and wherefores of all the articles, authors and their motives. I am only reminded of what has seemed to be a tacit ‘hands off’ between the two since the onset of this campaign.
IF Trump’s seeming attacks on Cruz are indeed real, then we shall soon see what the outcome (or continuance) of this battle of the giants-among- midgets ( I already named them) portends.
Trump donated to Democrats, praised Bill and Hillary, supports Obama lifting sanctions on Cuba, says “sorry, conservatives” but the government must provide universal health care in his speeches this year, supports the progressive income tax, supports federal ethanol mandates, wants the government to fund “women’s health issues,” refuses to cancel the Iran deal, said Zuckerberg can bring in all the foreign workers he wants in the debate, is going to let the “good” illegals come back in legally in an expedited fashion after deportation, recently flip-flopped on abortion and daughter Ivanka is best friends with Chelsea Clinton...
I just saw it too. He’s such a blowhard. I email my response to the RNC with $0.00. ;)
