Trump Threatens 35% Tax on Ford if Mexico Operations Expand
Mustang 360 ^ | 12/23/2015 | John Gilbert

It was the Detroit News headline "Trump goes after Ford Motor Co." not how long Hillary went overtime in the restroom that got our attention. Donald Trump made a whistle stop outside Grand Rapids, Michigan to take aim at Ford’s plans to expand production in Mexico. Trump promised if elected he would threaten manufacturers with big tariffs on imports to discourage building manufacturing plants south of the border.

Trump to Ford, "If you build that plant in Mexico, I’m going to charge you 35 percent on every car, truck part that you send into our country," he said. "Every single one." Trump went further saying he would engage in tough negotiations with car companies to build new plants in the US and Michigan. Political analysts say Trump’s proposal would at the very minimum require congressional approval and possibly violate NAFTA.

“Next, change the way Congress is paid. They should be paid by their individual states. Representatives would be selected by election of the people. Senators would be selected by the individual state legislatures for a period of FOUR years like it was done prior to 1912.”

I certainly do think cutting the Senators terms to four years would be a step in the right direction, coupled with the added law that would limit them to one re-election. we simply have to derail these lifetime Senators and Reps. Also, completly cut off any retirement benefits.

Making the business environment better for everyone would be a better policy.

Yup.

LOL....funny to see the Trump trolls expose their complete lack of business and economy knowledge.

Ignore the Trump trolls. They have nothing better to do. You’d think they could spend the day extolling the virtues of their own candidate - on their own candidates threads - rather than constantly tearing another (historic GOP FRONTRUNNER) down, day in day out.

Maybe they’re secretly supporting for Hellary ;-)

Trump operates at a level way over most people’s heads. He drives then locks up narratives and OWNS the keys. It’s amazing to watch. I have never seen a candidate so far above and ahead of everyone. A true leader. It’s been so long Americans have forgotten what a true leader actually acts like.

I totally agree! GO TRUMP!

Cruz believes in free-markets and lower taxes, so I don’t think he’d do it.

“It will have Bernie Sanders vote”

And mine.

As I’ve said many times, I would vote for Bernie Sanders before I would vote for Jeb Bush or Rubio.

And on a particular company? I would assume Trump knows the president shouldn’t have that power.

BS. Obama has already shown that all you need is a phone and a pen.

I guess we do have one thing to thank Obama for!

Have you read Trump’s tax proposal?
Cruz believes in higher H1B visas to foreigners. Trump believes in employing Americans. We have ninety million Americans out of work. Trump wants Americans employed FIRST.

Imagine dropping 2.2+ trillion real dollars, not printed QE dollars, into our economy.

Explain to me why the corporations would bring that money back to the U.S. and pay a 10% tax on it when they can leave it offshore and pay 0% tax?
