Tuesday in Boone, IA, Republican presidential candidate Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX)said on immigration he differs from his opponent Donald Trump because he explained Trump advocated allowing those deported to come back. Transcript of YouTube video uploaded by Lisa Angelos as follows: QUESTIONER: Both you and Donald Trump are really strong on immigration, but he supports deporting all the illegal immigrants. Are you willing to say the same? CRUZ: Absolutely, yes. We should enforce the law. QUESTIONER: All? CRUZ: We should enforce the law. QUESTIONER: OK. CRUZ: And in fact, look, thereâs a difference. Heâs advocated allowing folks to come back in and become citizens. I oppose that. QUESTIONER: So no citizens and all of them? CRUZ: So, if you read I have a very very detailed 11-page immigration proposal thatâs on my website itâs TedCruz.org. And It was designed with Rep. Steve King were the two who sat down with me to prepare it and it is enforce the law across the board.

Cruz has two positions on every topic. Voted for TPA cloture, voted against TPA. Was against gay marriage , not it’s up to the states. Was for 400% H1B increase, now against H1B. Was for amnesty, now against amnesty. Was silent on a wall, now is vocally for a wall.
When questioned, falls back on ‘the constitution’ as if there is one set of interpretations for it.
He’s a skilled politician no doubt.
You know, I really feel sorry for you. You hang on every word that comes out of Cruz’s mouth as though it was spoken by Jesus Christ. Sorry, he’s just a man like all - and runs with feet of clay. I sure don’t have Trump on a pedestal, because I know he is just a man - unlike your St. Cruz.
Cruz isn’t going to build a wall nor deport anyone. He’s just doing his usual COPY CAT CRUZ routine. I don’t want to hear how he talked about a wall before becoming a Senator either. It was never a part of his campaign until Ted got the memo from the RNC to mimic Trump. And, Cruz does nothing but joke about building a wall or putting IRS agents along the border. He isn’t serious about this at all. How can he be? His big donors are open borders people. Follow the money, but, It’s sad tow atch so many put their faith in a politician - and for the record - Cruz isn’t an outsider either.
Well said, sunrise.
What do you call legalizing 40 million illegals so they can stay permanently and bring in their relatives via chain immigration? Cruz has zero intention if deporting them. Twist it anyway you want, the bottom line is Cruz supports amnesty.
Where is that from? How did you arrive at that?
It is true that Cruz wanted an increase of H1-B visas, but has since called for a halt to that, to clean up the abuses.
“Spoken like a petulant child”
Spoken like someone that’s done with the juvenile crap from the Cruz supporters.
Go ahead and keep on with it. I wont be the only one. I dont owe him a vote, and if you guys are representative of his attitude, then he doesn’t need it.
In the end, you're measured not by how much you undertake
but by what you finally accomplish.Donald Trump
You forgot, Cruz is against H1B now that it polls bad.
Who knows what he tells his billionaire donors in private.
The Clinton’s would mop up on Cruz, he hasn’t been touched by the national media.
You think his Dominionist ties will play well with the middle ? The ravings of his Dad and love fests with Glen Beck ?
Trump flipped on in Sep. on the Automatic Weapons Ban and on allowing Syrian refugees into the country. Trump flipped from an in place amnesty to a touchback amnesty for the non criminals on July 27th.
Who knows what he tells his billionaire donors in private.
Probably something good because his billionaire donors are patriots.
The question is, can anyone believe a word Cruz says concerning immigration? This is a dramatic shift from what he said when he announced for the presidency. Then, he only said he’d secure the border and streamline legal immigration, and make it something to celebrate. And his position on H1-B increases is well known.
What a tough guy he has become is only the past few weeks. Not buying it.
This reminds me of how W was firmly opposed to amnesty during the 2004 campaign, and how Juan McCain campaigned on securing the border first in 2008 and again in 2010.
Ted’s coming across like just another triple-talking border state politician on the immigration issues.
Nice that Trump blew up the politically forbidden mention of deportation by wrangling it into acceptable discussion. Now Cruz can bravely claim he will raise him a notch. Where was he on deporting prior to Trump taking all the “incoming” heat?
Despite being asked directly, numerous times, Cruz will not say he will deport “non-criminal” illegals. But he has said he wants to bring them in out of the shadows. There are at least 40 million illegal aliens in this country. Clearly, Cruz intends to legalize 40 million illegal aliens if given the opportunity. Why do you think the the cheap labor supporting GOPe, CFG and GS are financing his campaign?
I am confused by your statement. Please tell me about Trump’s “history” of not loving more legal immigrants? I wasn’t aware Trump had ever said anything about immigration until just before he began running for president.
For the record, I am not for or against anyone right now, but I am skeptical of Trump’s sudden conversion to the conservative side (I like what he says, but he hasn’t been saying most of it very long).
C’mon now, most anyone will beat Clinton’s based on what you are saying.
How many Clinton donors know what a Dominionist is, or who Glen Beck is?
If it is not a Kardashian, the Clinton voters wouldn’t know who they are!
I think most anyone running against Clinton will beat Clinton, anyway.
Interesting that Cruz would fire a shot at Trump.
No one has survived a first shot at Trump.
Cruz must feel invincible.
Guess we’ll see.
It’s desperation. Besides, Cruz is the 500% H-1B visa king. He figures the only way to get anymore Evangelicals is to hide his political record and try to look tougher than Trump.
It's desperation to deny Trump's words on amnesty.
What makes anyone think that Trump is going to let all the illegals back in? He has no intention of doing so, but can’t actually say it. He merely says the “good” ones can return. Fact is, maybe half of illegals have some sort of criminal record back home. In any case, they almost HAVE to commit numerous acts of criminal fraud once here, in order to survive, and not get caught. This eliminates most of them right out of the gate. Trump knows what he is doing.
If memory serves, Cruz first said he isn’t in favor of deportations that it won’t work.
Then Donald said they must go back and can only return legally, which is a darn long process now and for millions to be added to the backlog of applicants would mean many years of waiting.
Then Cruz said he was for legalization Trump just wants to throw them the hell out.
To me Nobody and I mean Nobody would even be talking about throwing them out and building a wall if not for Donald Trump taking all the incoming.
