Before anyone misreads the author, I don;t think he is calling for anyone to DISREGARD what the constitution says today.
I think he believes it is time to change this part of the constitution via the normal constitutional process,
I don’t think it archaic. Fourteen years of living here is nothing if one is dedicated to the destruction of the US. Look at Obama. He barely lived in the US and his loyalties are to anything but traditional United States value and culture.
We should care. Globalism is out of control. We should not give up anything that shreds our Constitution and the intent of our Founding Fathers.

President is a unique position. I have no problem requiring the individual be born in this country and even raised in the country and having lots of pride in the US and less sympathy/pride in some other country. Being raised in another country makes it more likely that someone has divided loyalties (e.g. Obama). We can’t guarantee anything but I think for President we should be able to find one individual out of 300 million who has less risk of divided loyalties from childhood.
Of course the left is doing their best to make sure anyone raised in the US does not have pride in our country and we’re better of with a President who’s never been to the US than someone raised in a lefty environment.
Just say NO to dual citizens...
To quote Donald Trump, “You either have a country or you don’t.” Succinct, to the point and true. If we’re going to let the melting pot become a catch all for just anyone who wants a piece of it(which we are pretty close to doing); then we don’t have one.

Now, they have a situation where Cruz was INDEED born outside the United States, and was apparently a Canadian citizen, to boot.

The current administration is all the proof I need to conclude we need to follow, to the letter, our Constitution. Only natural born citizens, born on soil to two citizen parents, may serve as POTUS.
Natural born? Does that mean NOT by a C-section?
Because electing a dual citizen, British subject through his father, and American citizen through his mother, with uncertain birth location (Kenya? Canada? Hawaii?) and formative year upbringing in madrasas in Indonesia, who apparently went to school here as a foreign student has worked out so well for America, hasn’t it???

Ok, so the NBC definition is determined the term US citizen doesn’t reach the high bar. What difference does it make when those who are TBTB at the time don’t care. They like the man and will see to it that no matter what they want that man in charge. It was thought when 0, our dark won was traveling down this road our congress critters, important all knowing agencies would see fit to tell WTP the truth about him....9 years later only a few crickets are heard but where were they when they were needed? Consider the following who were not Natural Born Citizens of the countries they eventually ruled over:

How did that work out for the French and Europe?Those are three somewhat recent examples of why the NBC eligibility requirement (born in country to citizen parents) for POTUS looks like an time-tested, good idea to me.Hitler was born in Austria. The term or phrase "natural born citizen" is another one of those self-evident truths that the FFs spoke about and later realized they needed to spell out and protect, and not just from outsiders, but more likely from the lazy, rich kids like US who would inherit the place.
My guess is they must have thought that "natural born citizen" was so basic and self-evident they didn't need to define it like they had to with our Bill of Rights.
Guess they didn't count on a generation as lost as we are.
The way we've redefined things would definitely NOT be self-evident to them in any way at all.
