As someone who has consistently supported Trump and Cruz I can not see myself supporting either as an independent unless they were screwed at the Republican convention.

Even if either succeeded in creating an electoral college vote that required resolution by the House of Representatives I see no scenario where the parties would support an independent candidate.

Support your candidate but coalesce around Trump or Cruz to win the nomination.,

If Cruz can’t win the Republican nomination then why should he think he can win the general? Lord he is one stupid person.

if Trump wins, is going to watch Trump idol worshipers twist themselves into pretzels and knots trying to explain why Trump is not who they have been pretending he is.

I’d still rather Trump with all his warts then someone like Cruz who has a memory problem and would be unable to get his policies through the Congress anyway. Hell he can’t even get his policies in now and you think he will be able to magically as President. Totally delusional.

I thought a number of states have "Sore-Loser" laws

But those laws are not superior to a State Legislature's plenary authority to appoint electors in whatever manner they choose.

I have been predicting a four-way race in 2016 since November 2012, because neither party is capable of unifying under a single candidate any longer.

The way I see it now, Trump will be the Republican nominee and Biden/Warren the Democrat ticket. Hillary and Jeb will run together on some type of Bell-Everett platform (keep everything the way it is and don't bother about the details), and there may very well be some sort of trucon/socon candidate as well.

“Cruz who has a memory problem”

A lawyer with memory problems and a smirk. Go figure.

I favor armed revolution over a 3rd party run. 3rd parties never do any good. Armed revolution,....maybe. We may have to have one anyway to take the RINO party back from the NYC RINO’s trying to implement Single Payer and eminent domain.

Oh, yeah. Let’s form a party so small it is composed of just Shiite Conservatives - the 100%ers - and Canadians who want to be represented by one of their own...

It is clear to me there are enough on both sides to be disturbing. That's not uncommon in a primary. However, there appear to be a few more Cruz idol worshipers than for Trump. Serious nut jobs who vilify, smear and simply insult or destroy anyone who doesn't agree with them.

However, there is this fact that you don't get: Most of us who prefer Trump know we're going to get a mixed bag in some areas. But we do think he's serious on the most important issues he's brought up. If he just does them, we may get something good out of all of this. Which would be a great change up.

Cruz worshipers on the other hand, they can't see his obvious flaws and imperfections. I find that pretty disturbing.

An independent run takes money. A person would have a very hard time coming up with the funds to do that.

Goldman has plenty of money.

The fake Indian AND Biden need to get in... as third party candidates. That's the answer. We would win in a landslide.

If cruz can’t muster the votes to win the caucus in Iowa and New Hampshire and then lose the primary, he would certainly be a loser in the general election

besides that, you overlook the most important point. Cruz is a Republican Senator

although Cruz is a conservative favorite, the evidence is that he lacks the magnetic charisma to pull it off in the wider contest

You appear to be assuming that Bloomberg would carry some States, and thus prevent any other candidate from getting a majority in the electoral college. Why?

Cruz's best chance is staying in the Republican Party, where he has the second most support. And once again, I have to point out what should be obvious: Despite the success of some folk in stirring up hostility between Trump & Cruz supporters, the approach of Trump & Cruz to the contest, almost perfectly complement each other.

We clearly need both groups to prevail! (Cruz brings in the most philosophically oriented; Trump those whose Conservatism is not based so much on philosophic clarity, as simply enthusiastic patriotism--an emotional determination to preserve the American cultural heritage. They represent the two essential pillars of the Conservative approach to an American future.

We cannot prevail without both approaches.
