He may very well shine and do so brilliantly, but if no one watches what good will it do?

I think when he confronts the Muslim and the illegal, those responses will get a lot of publicity on other news shows, will be widely discussed among political commentators, and will certainly go viral online.

I think a LOT of voters will see it, particularly in Iowa, even if they don't watch it in real time on Fox.

None of the candidates can participate in debates not organized by the RNC. This PAC offer is bogus.

The establishment so-called "family values" lapdogs who are responsible for attacking genuine anti-establishment family values candidates will be there to assist Trump and get their faces on tv...big surprise!

I'm not surprised by Huck, but I am a little bit surprised by Santorum.

- -I predict tonight is more of a windfall for Rubio and Rand Paul to trash team Cruz. :-) --

Heheheh - okay, a windfall for all of them then. None of them will have to contend with the unscripted barbs from Trump.

Oh, LOL Good.

Haven’t I read that CNN and C-SPAN are covering Trump’s program?

And if we can assume Santorum and Huckabee’s support goes to Trump there’s another 3-4% in Trump’s corner.

Cruz has a very aggressive fundraising organization, I'll grant you that. After all he is running against a self funding billionaire who can manage all kinds of free TV face time simply because he is a celebrity.

But all that aside, until I hear something substantially convincing that says Cruz isn't the most capable conservative available for my vote he's got it.

Thanks for the "concern."

You're welcome. For whatever it is I said. Didn't see the Cruz rally you mentioned. I miss a lot on TV due to cutting the cable years ago.

Still like Cruz though. Am not against Trump. They're both fighting for the win. Eventual winner is fine by me.

If Rubio and Paul gang up on Teddy its not going to do him any good. These guys know where his soft spots are and they know how to twist the knife.

Ya never know. Fox may decide to toss Cruz softballs all night to try to make him look better than Trump

Ya think? Megyn will charm the hell out of these guys. Maybe show a little cleavage. :-)

Not only is Trumps charity at the same time as the Fox debate but it is only 3 miles from the debate.

You won't be hearing anything like that from me. Cruz or Trump: I will vote for the eventual nominee, I think.

Donating to needy veterans is a great thing to do with your own money. It would be a misuse of donor money when that was given for something else.

Good observation

I knew the moment Santorum began attacking Ted Cruz for no reason. These guys are wormtongues dispatched by the establishment in an attempt to bring down Ted Cruz.

prevent someone like Rubio dumping

You would think this is an outstanding opportunity for Rubio to take Cruz down a couple pegs and get a stronger outcome in Iowa. Considering Cruz has been weak in several of the following states, Rubio could be setting himself up for the 2nd place spot.

I know about Santorum’s abysmal performance in polls this time, but he is a good debater.

Trump’s through with the debates. He doesn’t need them. He can decide who will come to him,not the other way around.

This is a windfall for Cruz.

It ain't over yet. Trump's rally is 3 miles from the debate stage. Rush said he believes that Fox is still working to get Trump into the debate.

I thought so when Trump made his "final" statement, two days before the debate, leaving him two days to negotiate with Fox. It's deal-making brinksmanship.

I'm afraid that Fox will cave. Even if they don't, Trump will declare victory and show up tonight. His ego won't allow him to skip the debate.
