I’m sitting here in Texas and can’t remember the last time the nominee wasn’t already decided before we even got a chance to vote.

Texas is not winner take all, so a close race ends with them just splitting the delegates.

I was told by another Texan that “winner take all” is for republican primary in Texas but democrats have another system.

nope. Texas is proportional, BUT it does have a 20% threshold.
As long as both Trump and Cruz clear the 20% hurdle they will split their share of the Texas delegates.
And the Trump people have been kind, sweet, understanding, and modest? I think there is enough nasty to go around for both sides!
I am sure that is so... but it seems way out of proportion to most people like myself who have said repeatedly that they will be happy if either candidate becomes the nominee. I personally haven't seen one post from someone who has said they support Trump but wouldn't vote for Cruz if he gets the nomination. I am sure someone has done it, but I haven't seen It. But lets all try to keep in mind how important it is that a Republican takes the presidency.
