Actually, it really is a rebellion
February 10, 2016 | Jim Robinson

As much as I love Cruz as a conservative, there really is a voter rebellion underway and it may be unstoppable. Despite all the denials, the simple truth is the voters really are fed-up and really are up in arms against the establishment.

Trump's message is exactly what the voters are looking for:

Build the wall, enforce the law, deport them all, slap a moratorium on Muslim immigration, bomb the hell out of ISIS, cut the taxes, cut the spending, cut the regulations, cut the government, cut the bad trade deals, cut the political correctness crap, bring back capital, bring back manufacturing, bring back jobs, get the economy back on track, rebuild the military so no one messes with us and make America great again!

It's a winning message.

The rallies are real.

The pent up anger is real.

The rebellion is real!

GOPe RINOs Bush, Rubio, Kasich, et al, stand no chance whatsoever.

We still have hope for conservative Cruz to pull it out, but this is Trump's Rebellion to lose.

Go, Cruz, GO!!

Go, Trump, GO!!

Either way, we win, they lose.

You speak for me.
I am extremely conservative - throughout life - but I have been betrayed by do-nothing “conservatives” too many times.
The situation is so dire that I am willing to consider taking a chance on a demonstrably non-conservative who may be an actual nationalist (versus an ostensible conservative who may be an actual globalist).
Drastic symptoms call for drastic measures.

“Nobody argues that Trump is running as a conservative, only whether Trump actually is a conservative.”

Always a Marine, you draw the distinction perfectly. Your comments on this thread express my own thoughts with clarity and concision.

“It is a rebellion, divided into two ideological camps. Trump’s camp is akin to the French Revolution and Cruz’s camp is much closer to the the American Revolution. Either way the Establishment falls, but it is the aftermath that is night versus day. Beware the pitfall of rejoicing when a new evil overthrows the old.”

Extremely insightful inpajamas.

Sideshow Bob I think your family poll is revealing. Trump certainly enjoys strong support, but I believe that those who would support him, in a poll or with a vote, are already doing so. And they don’t make up a nationwide electoral majority.

Even among Republicans he has been the second choice of very few. I can’t see him drawing the support necessary to win a general election.

That doesn’t mean that my guy Cruz can build a majority, but I can vote for him with enthusiasm and a clear conscience.

Anyone in the cult notice that Trump said tonight that he will be changing and that he can change into anything he wants to??

Maybe like the leftist he always was for 68 of his 69 years??

Oh absolutely.

But the Trump folks as of late are attempting to portray the man as “untouchable” which is utter nonsense.

A man with a shady of a past as Donald Trump is going to have quite a few egregious skeletons in his closet, all of that dirty laundry will be brought to light.

Hopefully the Trump folks will pull themselves out of their delusion for just a moment to realize who exactly they are backing.

Yeah, the people are pissed. It is a rebellion. Hard to say where it’s going to lead.

The painting of Cruz as some kind of slimeball is a bit off-putting though.

Because it ain’t so.

Trump is the only real difference in this election. Cruz and Rubio are being cast as insurgents but they’re not. They’re two junior senators who are already up to their eyeballs in donor debt.

The only insurgent is Trump, the only one who has the business experience to fix our economy is Trump, and the only one with the cajones to fix this country is Trump.

The last businessman who was President: Herbert Hoover.

It’s funny because he was all for import tariffs as well...

That worked out SO well last time too...

Trump has no actual solutions one can speak of really. He has empty promises with few details. When details ARE given, they are rooted in the thought government is the solution to the problem.

Very big government, very liberal, very wrong for this country.

Well maybe "dishonor" is harsh word to use for you since you have been such a Patriot in the fight.

But to hear these others just is blasphemous. Rhetoric, like "We are at war here.", etc is such BS and over the top.

Hell, America ain't at war, America is at the Mall, the Marines are at War.

And me with my background knows that to fix what is broke we will need more than these elections. Even a stalwart like Cruz who has real integrity in my book will not be able to drag us from the mire.

We will need heads on pikes and necks in nooses. We need to show the world that the Citizens of the US know their is no integrity in our Government. Then the world will respect us and fear us.

Maybe Cruz or even Trump can deliver on those but I doubt it.

Of the 3 he is old enough to remember how great America really was.
