I stopped reading when you compared him to Reagan. Sorry.

If you really understand Reagan as being America first, then you understand how Reagan fits Trump, not Cruz. Reagan slapped on tariffs and reduced imports of Japanese cars. He solidified Social Security and was endorsed by unions. Reagan was conservative where it counts as long as conservatism put America and its citizens first.

All the other candidates run theirs mouths about Reagan but they actually pretend he was something he was not. I'm a huge Reagan fan. Believe me, a globalist like Cruz is no Reagan.

Trump is pretty much saying this, about Hellary, already. He’s doing a fine job of branding her as a criminal....and of branding Bernie the Commie as a sosialist/communist.

Correct.

“Kanye West for VP!”

Cruz/Kanye or Kanye/Cruz. That could work!

Disagree. The only republican that can’t beat Hillary is Bush. My opinion of course.

I see him more in line with Hoover, not Reagan.

How about Teddy?

“Behind the ostensible government sits enthroned an invisible government owing no allegiance and acknowledging no responsibility to the people.”

“We can have no ‘50-50’ allegiance in this country. Either a man is an American and nothing else, or he is not an American at all.”

Theodore Roosevelt

I am not going to vote for Trump on March 1st in our primary, but will do so in the general election if he is the nominee.

Staying at home or writing some third party candidate in who has no chances what soever to get elected president guarantees the presidency of Hillary Rodham Clinton.

Think about it.

You mean Trump is a socialist like Soros?

I don't believe there is a comparison between these two.

This seems a little bit like concern trolling to me.

I think Trump should highlight all of Hillary’s problems, but he should probably shy away from extreme, yet-to-be-proven declarations. “Soon-to-be-indicted”. What if she doesn’t get indicted? Then Trump was wrong.

He should bring up the questions and keep hammering on them, certainly. But making sweeping declarations doesn’t really serve much purpose when it comes to winning the nomination, because he’s already winning. When he moves to the general, he’ll have to soften up his rhetoric a bit to attract Dem crossover votes. You can point out that Hillary is terrible without prematurely declaring her a convicted war criminal.

I don’t think Trump is looking to bloggers for advice though, so this is all a moot point. Pretty sure Trump has come up with a fine strategy without the “benefit” of what I’m totally sure is nothing but good-natured, sincere advice.

So Root is claiming Trump funneled millions f dollars to a criminal, and that’s supposed to be a plus?

Where did he claim that? Or are you talking about the bribes at the Clinton foundation? Surely you don’t believe there weren’t any.

What if she doesn't get indicted? Then Trump was wrong.

He specifically addresses that in this article. He wants Trump to say up front that if she isn't indicted it is because of a completely corrupt DOJ. This way he is right no matter what happens.

I do disagree with Root that Bernie would get wiped out. I'm more worried about Bernie than Hillary.

I expect Bernie or someone just like him will be elected President within my lifetime.

If either Cruz or Trump is elected President, we can turn this debacle around, if not, you may be correct.

No, I mean that if you look at the national polls, he loses to either Sanders or Clinton.

I was disappointed that the author missed the KEY ADVICE that Trump needs to hear:

“Being anti-PC and blunt is wonderful, but please be careful with making so many unnecessary verbal blunders.”

Don’t get me wrong, I love Trump’s dismantling of the PC regime and the socio-economic fascist regime. No one could do it better than Trump.

But his comment about Mexicans being rapists and criminals was too easy to twist by the media. Sure, I understand what he was trying to say, but he’s not sophisticated enough to present his idea in a bomb-proof way that won’t be twisted. After that gaffe, several million Hispanics in the US will NEVER vote for him.

I know what Trump meant to say: a larger-than-average percentage of illegals commit rapes/crimes, but his sentence was weak and seemed to say that ALL or MOST of them commit rapes/crimes. He blew it.

And his comments at his N.H. victory speech about China and Japan were horribly worded. I know Japan very well and I know how those words will be perceived over there when translated into Japanese and broadcast on television.

He said: “We’re going to beat China, Japan, beat Mexico at trade. We’re going to beat all of these countries that are TAKING so much of our money away from us on a daily basis.”

The Japanese hearing the translation that “THEY ARE TAKING SO MUCH OF OUR MONEY AWAY FROM US” makes it sound like the Japanese are THIEVES!! My gosh, it’s so unnecessarily insulting.

Again, what Trump meant to say is they are TAKING BUSINESS AWAY FROM US. Big difference. Also, Japan & China GIVE us money by investing in US Treasuries and subsidizing our debt. So it was a completely IGNORANT, MISPLACED statement on Trump’s part. He blew another opportunity to make a good point about American business competitiveness.

Finally, the Megyn Kelly “bleeding out of wherever” comment was just soooo insane. TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE, no matter how bad Megyn’s debate questions were!

I will vote for Trump, but in the “foot in the mouth” cagegory, he is NO RONALD REAGAN and he must school himself to not do so many gaffes.

Trump is a PROVINCIAL sort of East-coast seat-of-the-pants real-estate success. He doesn’t have finesse to deal with people from other countries in the world via a deep understanding of the nuances of their cultures.

So the message to TRUMP is take a page from the Reagan book and learn to be ANTI-PC — but more calibrated about it — so you don’t make any gaffes.

It’s fantastic to alienate the Left, but don’t give the Left any major gaffes to sink their teeth into.

Given the current nature of the Senate, the idea that all other senators hate Cruz is actually a point in Cruz’s favor.

You just did the same, by leaving out the word illegal from that statement.

After watching this, I’m not voting for Trump if he’s our chosen candidate. He’s a huckster and a con man. I’ve had enough of that kind in DC.
