I think you misunderstand Trump supporters.

We want America to be number 1 again.
No more apologies for being America.
We do want the wall and we feel that with Trumps background on building things make him the most likely to do it.
We want Muslims to be giving a second look before entering the country so revisiting our VISA program is a good thing and keeping Muslims out until it is done is a good thing.
We are sick of companies leaving America, Trump is too.
The economy is a mess....anything Trump does to make it better is a plus.

We are not expecting miracles, but expecting the drip to stop. He is our best to try and save our country in all of our humble opinions.

I’ll name you one thing Cruz didn’t do. Cheat on his spouses.

Thank you. That was honest. I think the economic protectionism is wrongheaded but at least you are not couching it in other reasons.

Ok. I’ll give you that...........although we don’t know everything about Cruz yet. He is not as clean as he represent. I often see people who presents themselves as perfect are often sneaky and we find out that, that doesn’t turn out well for them. I still think there is a lot of stuff yet to come out about him. The thing with Trump is you know it all and he is not unapologetic about it. I find that refreshing quite frankly.

“Could you provide three examples of things he’s done, not said, but done in his life prior to running that lead you to that conclusion?”

1. Giving Sgt Tahmooressi $25,000 to get his life back together when he finally got out of that Mexican hellhole prison. Never said a word about it til Greta outed him.

2. Taking the time out of a rally speech to go into the audience and talk to a wounded warrior about his problems then put his staff on it and get the guy his back pay and get him into the proper treatment program near his home. Never said a word about it except for a two line tweet to say they got it worked out.

3. Life flighting a desperately sick child on his private plane to a treatment hospital. Never said a word about it.

4. Went in with Frank Sinatra to pay for the Central Park jogger’s medical bills. Never said a word about it.

5. Going in with an Atlanta businessman to pay off a widow’s farm mortgage after her husband died. Never said a word about it.

6. Paying off a couple’s home mortgage because they were the only people who would stop to help Trump when he was out on the road broken down in his car. Never said a word about it.

Maybe you can see the constant thread here is “never said a word about it” That’s called humble.

“By their fruits you shall know them”

Name one unselfish act that Ted Cruz has ever done and “never said a word about it” I hate to say I don’t know that there are any.

Could a non-Christian have done those things?

“Could a non-Christian have done those things?”

Well I mean if you are waiting see the guy rise from the dead I can’t help you. You asked for 3 examples of Christian charity and I gave you more.

I could ask you the same thing about Ted Cruz. Maybe he’s not a believer but just pretends. How do you know that’s not true? A non Christian could spout the bible all day long. Barack Obama says he’s a Christian but acts like a Muslim.

Donald Trump says he’s a Christian, goes to church and commits serial acts of Christian charity. Why would you doubt him if you don’t doubt Ted Cruz?

You still have not answered my question. Where are the Christian acts that Ted Cruz has done? Why not just give me the list? We both know the answer to that question don’t we?

No I didn't. I asked for examples of his practice of Christianity. You came up with the charity. Religion is not required for charity.

My support of Cruz is not tied to his religious practice or lack thereof. I don't care what deity Cruz worships.

Trump is Christian enough

Just exactly how does that work? You only have one building with strip clubs (male and female). Perhaps you only have one or two verses of the Bible you like to quote? In Trump's case he will not elaborate on even one? See video linked below. Perhaps it is enough to wave a Bible on occasion and say it is your favorite book. See video below. Perhaps you donate to some of the most pro-abortion candidates and laugh it off as playing the game. Perhaps you just spit at one of the most sacred tenant of Christianity and blow off forgiveness as something only the tiny people do (you are able to live a sinless life and don't need it).

Perhaps you grace the cover of Playboy and joke about wanting to buy it. Playboy has been one of the most outspoken liberal garbage pushing magazines for over 60 years. It is so adamant on it's liberal hawking that it would give up nudity to still just spout it's progressive spew with what life it has left.

I pray the south does not buy the "he is Christian enough" crapola. Because if they swallow that, they will certainly line up for "he is conservative enough" and "he is sufficiently enough not a communist".

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Os0U_qfDtdU

Those of us remember Obama once hid behind the "He is Christian enough mantra". Alan Keyes stripped that mask off in a debate that was pure magic, but to the dumb down voter base in Illinois it was ignored.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v-yUCg0TASc

The public accepted a false Christian. As deep as Obama would get was "I would want to know if I was going up or down". Good grief Alan Keyes nails it. Compare it and what Keyes brings up upon subjects like abortion. Keyes didn't have a problem sharing his favorite verse (as Trump did have a problem). Note how Obama hides behind his pastor ("God Damn America pastor Wright").

FR has become divided recently. But deeper than just the Cruz vs Trump is the rift that you hit on the nail. Christians vs those that pretend to be Christian vs those that outright hate any and everything Christian. People recently talk about times people fled FR or were zotted. Notable times often mentioned was the Giuliani era where some on FR thought he was the cat's meow. But there was also the time FR was a constant fight between those that supported atheism and set about calling those of us that didn't everything they wittily could think of to skirt being banned. They eventually earned the wrath of JR and many left to form another web site (DarwinCentral). There's nothing conservative about Giuliani. He's a flaming liberal. -- Jim Robinson

Some remember a few of the more vocal ones like "OWK".... He is seen in post 2 in the below thread.

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/554692/posts

OWK was eventually banned... as many others. JR pointed to the opening page of FR which includes that this site was "Pro-God".

As a conservative site, Free Republic is pro-God, pro-life, pro-family, pro-Constitution, pro-Bill of Rights, pro-gun, pro-limited government, pro-private property rights, pro-limited taxes, pro-capitalism, pro-national defense, pro-freedom, and-pro America. - Opening statement on FR by JR.

One notable thread was "Rare fossil find on roadside (Extraordinarily preserved pterosaur)"

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/news/1732037/posts

Central Scrutiniser earned the wrath of Jim there (thread linked above). A good exchange worthy of noting occurred between the two.

"You have no evidence other than stating that its in the bible, well, I refuse to accept the bible as a scientific text." - Central Scrutiniser

Our FR founder replied ... text below...

And therein lies the rub. In order for you to prove the theory of evolution and to have it universally accepted by all people as true fact, you must first completely destroy the Holy Bible and all it teaches us.

There can be no Creator. No God. No miracles. God cannot possibly have created the Earth or the Heavens or Man and every Creature that walks swims or crawls. There was no Adam and Eve. No Garden of Eden. No original sin. There was no Noah. No Ark. No flood. No Moses. No burning bush. No Ten Commandments handed down from God. Jesus cannot possibly have been the Son of God, nor could he have died on the cross for our sins. The Resurrection could not possibly have happened. There is no Saviour and no Salvation. No life after death. No Heaven. No Hell. No God. No Satan. No good vs evil.

Therefore all of Christianity, in fact, all of all religions are simply mythical fairy tales based on lies and superstition.

The theory of evolution does not allow for the Holy Bible, or miracles including the miracle of Creation, the miracle of life, etc, or God our Creator, or Jesus Christ, or Christianity, Judaism, etc.

The Declaration of Independence is therefore also a lie. If there is no Creator, our rights cannot possibly have come from God. In other words, we have no unalienable rights. Our rights would only be what the government allows us.

The Declaration would be null and void and the founding would have been based on lies rather than "these truths we hold self-evident."

The first amendment would simply be a cruel joke. The Bill of Rights would have no foundation on truth or unalienable rights from God and that would also make the entire Constitution of the United States null and void. All laws based on the Ten Commandments would be null and void. There would be no God to guide our judges and no reason not to bear false witness.

Our entire American history, in fact all of civilization would be based on nothing but lies. Our ancestors passed down lies to our grand parents and parents and they lied to us and we have taught our children nothing but lies.

This is exactly what the Marxists (leftists) would have us believe.

If you destroy belief in the Creator, you destroy belief in God, Christianity, Judaism, etc. You destroy our entire civilized society and reason for being. We would be left with nothing but chaos and anarchy. A Marxist dream come true.

Believers in the theory of evolution may not be Marxists, but they are pushing exactly what the Marxists want pushed. And that makes it political.

And I have absolutely no problem whatsoever with science. Along with everything else, God created all knowledge and that includes the modern miracle of science.

.

I see the battle today as not just Trump vs Cruz, but with the name calling of those religious as a slick new battle on those that do hold Christianity as more than something that is "Christian enough". Today threads of FR often have two or three people that mention Cruz as a "Bible thumper" or similar references that are meant to demean those that do hold Christ as sacred. Those that often have scripture in taglines yet support an abortion supporter Trump leading the charge. Slick Willy is not the only slick around here.

I got a question for you Georgia Girl... Do you think Donald Trump is still proud of his Playboy cover? The one with him quoted on the cover as saying “nice magazine, want to sell it?”....

Somehow, I doubt God cares. He’s probably more concerned about Trump cheating on his wives.

So if you don’t care about Cruz’s religion or lack therof why are you so worried about Trump’s?

Your one and only problem in this little dance you have started with me is that you have no tangible proof of Ted Cruz’s Christian faith. You cannot even tell me one act of Christianity witnessed for Ted Cruz or you would have done it by now. So you are reduced to trying to change the subject.

One more time give me 3 examples of Ted Cruz witnessing his Christian faith other than spouting he’s going to show everybody the face of God.

Well I would disagree on that one. I think God wants the United States to get back to being the Constitutional god fearing republic we were founded to be. If you think the United States of America was just accidentally created you have a lot to learn.

The story is about how Christianity matters to lots of voters. Trump supporters like you have gone on and on here about the man's Christianity. I am saying if your vote is tied to his being a Christian, you said he was "Christian enough", then show me the hard evidence of the religious practice.

I don't need proof of faith because I don't care about it.
