This is an invasion force. Has there ever been a “exercise” involving the equivalent of perhaps two or three field armies except perhaps in the PRC since the end of the Cold War?
I was thinking “tanks” includes IFVs and APCs.
This BS written all over it or the writers at IBT screwed. It would take weeks to bring together such a large force over that wide a geographic space.
Hardware means nothing if the men running it are cowards and perverts.
These countries do not have the logistics to run the supply chain it would take to keep something this massive operational for 18 days let alone to form it up.
Spending gobs of money when the price of oil is way down. Losers.
“I donât think Saudi Arabia HAS 20K tanks, much less crews for them.”
Yea, that was Cold War levels in Europe. It REALLY stuck out...makes all the numbers non-credible.
Perhaps they count Toyota Technicals as tanks out there.
Not to mention what are the odds of mutual cooperation among these nations. All they really have in common is they hate Israel, and there’s no need for them to get their butts whooped at this juncture. They do not have a desire for quelling ISIS, they can’t war up oil prices. They do however LOVE sabre rattling, and it saves a lot of expense to not really do this and just say they did.
Checked. Even with IFVs and APCs the Saudis don’t come close to 20K AFVs.
Honestly I don’t know. I feel we are shaping up for CWII here in this country, frankly.
SA is probably the one national government that could possibly be trusted to only use that power for self-defense. All they want is to stay in power and collect many billions every year, and avoid the usual Muslim violence (most often by capitulating to it, but ISIS and Obama’s Arab Spring have not been looking cooperative anymore).
The Russians will *have* to oppose this for economic reasons.
I think the numbers cited are ridiculous, but if we ignore all of that and read it as ‘major Saudi military move into Syria’, this is really bad news.
We were just hearing about the Turks threatening to enter Syria, too. So...some kind of pan-Islamic action to push Russia out, topple Assad, install a Saudi-friendly regime, build natural gas pipeline to the Euro energy market and undersell the crap out of the Russians, maybe?
future news tweet to come in the future,
"Tanks were much help in this military exercise, most of them were taken out of service as they were sitting dukes in the biggest tank traffic jam in all of known history."
20k is way too many tanks in this case, but the world has far more than 20k tanks. Russia alone has 15,000.
I think the Saudis did purchase Challengers, but that was a long time ago. They have probably resold them.
Right? Doesn't feel good in America these dayz. Just seems every day brings more news of either the “real” state of the world/American economy, foreigners flooding our nation..illegal and legal with the HELP of our own gubbamint, folks outta work, life savings evaporating, a federal behemoth growing ever larger and monumental fiscal mismanagement by our so called leaders.
All facilitated by those in D.C.. Crazy stuff. Seems they divide us constantly to keep us off balance. Seems they generate one crisis after another (never stops) to keep folks scared. Latest...the dreaded ZIKA virus...dun dun duuuun! Gonna kill us..kill us all.
In a state of fear. CWII? Not sure, but I can say, collapse the economy, engage in another WW, shut down power, food supplies.....you got’cher seff a whole lotta chaos.
That will be one hell of a long military parade...........
