Shoot now, aim later.
Abort now, diagnosis later.
From an economic/public policy perspective alone, a far better use of resources would be to bring back DDT, for heaven's sake, to fight all the mosquito-spread diseases.
As it stands, this zika-microcephaly propaganda is another "spur" used by the anti-birth forces, trying to stampede pregnant women into aborting their little ones, and coerce pro-life nations to dump their life-protective laws and Constitutions.

They are doing this to promote abortions. Millions of women around the world are being pressured into abortions by this.

The coincidence of Monsanto's " Round Up " with genetic abnormalities in agricultural areas ,
which coincides with the outbreak of the Zika virus in areas of genetically modified crops
should be overlooked since Monsanto is already indemnified against liablity by the U.S. FEDgovt .
The revolving door between the head of USDA and Monsanto is just another one of those coincidences .
Nothing to see here !
Don't look behind the curtain !

I listened to Dennis Prager (first time ever for me) this morning and he had an expert on who said the same thing you did. They are encouraging all pregnant women in South America to abort. He called it ghoulish and genicidal. He explained that it won’t spread into the US for a variety of reasons. The big one is that the mosquitos that carry it don’t/can’t live north of Panema.
There has been no conclusive evidence that the virus is the cause of microcephaly. So wicked to use fear to push for mass abortions.

There is now at least one well-documented case of microcephaly developing during a pregnancy being monitored by ultrasound, with a complete Zika genome isolated from the brain tissue of the fetus.
There may be other causes of microcephaly, and the evildoers will seize on this tragedy as they do with others, but I don’t think there is a serious doubt anymore about the teratogenic effects of in utero Zika virus infection.

Florida activates Zika Virus Information Hotline By SUZETTE PORTER
Article published on Wednesday, Feb. 17, 2016
As of Feb. 15, 21 cases of the virus have been confirmed in the state, including three in nearby Hillsborough County. Seven cases have been confirmed in Miami-Dade County, three in Lee, four in Broward, one in Santa Rosa, one in St. Johns, one in Osceola and one in Alachua County.
Health officials said that all of the cases are travel-related, which means the person was infected with Zika virus by a mosquito while traveling outside the United States. tbnweekly.com

While it is entirely possible that the virus is not the cause (of microcephaly) or only part of it, to avoid having yet another STD with unpredictable results on a heretofore unexposed population just might be a good thing.
In such matters, erring on the side of caution is seldom regrettable.

It appears that a larvacide sprayed on cities and added to water is the actual cause of the microcephaly. There were cases long before Zika was touted as the "cause". The vaccine makers are salivating at an opportunity to exploit the hype well before there is proven causality.

Certainly DDT should be spread now. With thousands of infants being born with shrunken heads, practicing birth control until they end the threat would only be prudent.
