THE TIME FOR ACTION IS NOW!

Ok, we knew it would happen and it is happening. The first cracks in that alleged Republican wall of invincibility in the Senate are beginning to run. Charles Grassley R-Iowa and CHAIRMAN of the Judiciary Committee is now publicly saying that he has not excluded the possibility of calling a vote on an Obama Supreme Court appointment. Grassley is also RUNNING FOR RE ELECTION; as is David Vitter R-Louisiana, another Judiciary Committee member.

We have to BURY both these Senators in phone calls, e-mail, snail mail, and personal visits to their office closest to you with like minded voters. They are especially vulnerable now; and much more likely to fear you more than Obama and the Democrats. Let them know clearly that they must stand fast that; any confirmation action must be AFTER the election.

The Most effective pressure is to target the Judiciary Committee. There are 10 Republicans, including Ted Cruz,Jeff Sessions, and Mike Lee R-UT. There are 8 Democrats including Chuck Schumer,Dick Durbin, and their Minority Chair Pat Leahy. Need I say more.

GO FOR IT!

They just want to make deals with Obama, just like Trump would do.

Jane, remember how you were so adamant that Grassley was a serious conservative endorsement of Trump? Remember how you rejected any argument that Grassley was GOPe?

The UNIPARTY is just trolling for a plausible (to them) excuse to once again go against the will of the American people. As if they really need one.

In the democrat Senate, Harry Reid would have issued his edict and every single democrat Senator would have marched in lockstep.

Sen. David Vitter is not running for reelection. He announced his retirement last Fall.

If 0bammy puts another radical marxist in the supreme court we can expect to lose all the rights that he is trying to take away from us.

As Chairman of the Judiciary Committee, it wouldn't be smart for Grassley to take an absolutist position in public before the nominee is even named. Even if we hold on to the Senate - which is really questionable at this point - taking such a position might compel party-line Democrat opposition to future nominees.

The smart move is to say you're keeping an open mind even of both you and the Dems know how it will turn out.

If Republicans can’t hold back on this, I question whether or not the Republicans should fade away, and go the way of the Whig Party.

If the more conservative of our two major parties will not stand and fight for core conservative principles, then what good are they?

There have been two major parties for most of our history, but the two parties have not always been today’s Democrats and Republicans.

The Whig Party dissolved and the Republican Party rose as the new 2nd party in the 1850s.

Why can’t we let today’s Republican Party dissolve, to be replaced by a new stronger ideological conservative party of some sort?

We might be better off politically. We sure couldn’t be any worse off considering how the GOP is unable or unwilling to confront Obama liberalism.

I see your point. Let’s hold hearings and consider the nominee and then Bork the nominee. Say we gave him/her a fair hearing. But then also, make sure we point out the radical background of the appointee, and note this is the reason for rejection.

Absolutely. A lot depends on who it is. If he nominates the typical lefty wacko. Then drag it out and kill it shortly before the election. If he decides to get clevel and nominate someone more moderate, drag it out until after the election. If a Republican wins the election. Then don't vote on him or vote him down. If a Dem wins, then confirm the moderate during he lame duck session so Hillary or Bernie can't appoint a radical.

In Geaasley's position, though, he has to maintain at least a plausible appearance of fairness

There is a real possibility that we will not retain the Senate, they may have decide to fill the seat while they have some semblance of control. They wouldn’t have had to worry about that if they hadn’t been such Quislings in the first place.

The current leader in the primaries will not have a conservative who is pro life as a priority, indeed he will want a pro KELO anti private property liberal judge.

It doesn’t really matter.

I’ll predict that as soon as Trump wraps up the GOP nomination he will start warning the Senate that he expects to fill Scalia’s seat not OFail.

“Grassley is also RUNNING FOR RE ELECTION; as is David Vitter R-Louisiana, another Judiciary Committee member.”.......

When is their term up? Hopefully before they get to vote on a SCOTUS justice. They need to be beaten badly to show not only them but the rest of the rinos that the people are PISSED and it is time they learn it.

Bullshit. If Trump wins the nomination he will either show his true liberal colors or fumble. By fumble I mean that he will do something so stupid that he will have no chance of winning.
