Yes, you're right. There was also an abortive revolt at Auschwitz where inmates managed to blow up one of the crematorium but the SS brutally put down the revolt.

Wow. When hell was in session. A reporter once asked John Paul II whether an evil time will return like that of WWII. He said, No. WWII was the max of Satan’s power as foreseen by Sr. Lucia in 1917. The magnitude of evil from WWII is still sad and astounding.

I think the author is confusing the uprising at the Sobibor concentration camp with Treblinka.About two months earlier than Sobibor, a few hundred excapees. There was a revolt at Auschwitz the week before Sobibor.

Will Obama take a moment to honor Willenberg?

âThe magnitude of evil from WW2 is still sad and astoundingââ. Indeed it is.I’ve studied WW2 for most of my life from the time I was in junior high. I still find the barbarity and unimaginable horror of the Holocaust beyond belief . That perhaps the most cultured nation in Europe, that the German people could do such as thing is truly horrifying. As the last survivors of that horror leave this earth I fer future generations might believe it didn’t happen.

There was evil on both the nazi and the communist sides — when you can read “The Red Tsar - Stalin”, i’d strongly recommend it.

I’ve always said Nazi Germany and The Soviet Union were two scorpions in a bottle. Thanks for the book recommendation. Its ironic that the biggest killer of Communists wasn’t Hitler but Stalin.

I agree. Studying WWII is always interesting. I am not nervous about future generations ignoring WWII and the camps. After all, it just takes one picture from Auschwitz to teach a lesson for a lifetime.
