Newt Gingrich: GOP Establishment 'Living in Fantasy Land' Over Trump
Newsmax ^ | 22 Feb 2016 | Sandy Fitzgerald

Donald Trump is "far and away the front-runner," for the GOP presidential nomination and the establishment is "living in a fantasy land," by denying that big changes are happening, former House Speaker Newt Gingrich said Monday.

"Trump is tapping into something in the country that's real," Gingrich told Fox News' "Fox & Friends" program.

"If you take Trump's vote and Cruz's vote and Carson's vote -- the three outsiders -- they are once again at about 62 percent in South Carolina, and they have been consistently above 60 percent everywhere in the country. If you pull together all of the insurgents, there's a message there."

Further, Gingrich said that Trump is by far the party front-runner, and the real tests are coming for Florida Sen. Marco Rubio and Texas Sen. Ted Cruz to win primaries in their own home states.

"He has vastly more delegates," Gingrich said. "Can Rubio win Florida? Right now Trump is winning Florida. How well does Cruz do in Texas? Trump is a national player and he's strong everywhere."

Trump could be running away with the SEC Primary since there is some suggestion Cruz is no longer in the lead in Texas

Heard Eric Erickson on Fox Business this afternoon and he said there would be no way he’d vote for Trump. Said he’d for third party. When asked if the third party was Bloomberg, would he vote for him, he said no. Idiots like Erickson and the GOPe will never learn!

Trump will win Texas, Florida, NY & Pennsylvania.
Very good shot of winning CA too.
Can’t see the the others picking up enough overcome it.
Wait for the brokered convention.

Expecting revolution, one way or the other.

Dono, but he seems to have Florida in a big way.

Based on the people that I have had the honor to converse with down there.

The bottom line in all of this is:

Cruz is not dropping out.
Rubio is not dropping out.
Trump will always get a healthy plurality as long as Cruz and Rubio split the Trump vote.

Conclusion: Trump is going to win easily.

If Rubio got out (not going to happen), in a Trump vs Cruz race, with no GOPe standing (Kasich doesnt count), Trump would easily win, since few Rubio votes would go to Cruz and I can see a lot going to Trump (I know, I can hear the wailing and gnashing of teeth as I type these words).

If Cruz got out (only marginally more likely than Rubio getting out), in a Trump vs Rubio race, the GOPe would pour hundreds of millions into Rubios coffers, make him look absolutely like the robot he is, and again Trump would easily win.

Three different scenarios, one single outcome: Trump Wins.

Works for me.

To paraphrase our kind host:

“Go Trump! Go Cruz! We Win! They Lose!”

We don’t know how much Trump wins by in Nevada, but he will win by double digits.

3 crushing defeats of Rubio, and Cruz in a row will depress their fund raising and demoralize their voters. Their path to beating Trump is getting more hard to make happen with each big loss. Jeb was smart to exit.

Cruz’s campaign firing shows the strains inside his campaign for the first time. A reorg the day before a primary isn’t a good sign. Desperation maybe

“Trump will win Texas, Florida, NY & Pennsylvania.

I think he can take CA as well. Someone had some chart and they had Cruz winning California.....there is some more of that Cruzer ‘imagination’ that Cruz asked us all to use when he announced his prez run.

Polls show both Cruz and Rubio beat Trump in head to head match-ups.

The guy Cruz just fired wouldn’t commit to winning Texas just this morning.

Idiots like Erickson and the GOPe will never learn!

How’s that any different than the people on this website saying they’ll never vote for Rubio...?

Donald Trump is a direct threat to the survival of their corrupt cartel. They don’t CARE if they win the prez race....they have to protect their $ laundering operation known as CAMPAIGNS that sucker us out of our $$$.

Trump resonates with people because he taps into what is really an affront to them.

Why isn't it Rubio ahead and Trump fighting Cruz? Or Cruz ahead and Rubio fighting Trump for second place?

It's because "Trump tells it like it is."

Newt is right about one thing....some of the stuff coming out from establishment pundits today about how Trump could be stopped are delusional.

“Trump could be running away with the SEC Primary since there is some suggestion Cruz is no longer in the lead in Texas”

Combine that with Trump polling very well in the NE. Senator Cruz needs to win 7 or 8 of the Super Tuesday primaries to have a chance.

NY, NJ, Pen, MA, Con will all go for Trump

Trump is tapping into something in the country that’s real

******************************************************

Yeah, we’re really ticked off that the RNC/GOP has paid lip service to national security while leaving the border open and allowing millions of fraudulently documented foreigners flood the country.
Actively thwarting the will of the people to enforce the laws and borders.
The Ministry of Propaganda is deservedly included in that anger for trying to manipulate us into voting against our own interests and in the interest of the cheap labor importers.

Polls show both Cruz and Rubio beat Trump in head to head match-ups.

Depends in which states. If Trump wins Ohio, PA, NY, NJ, CA. Tx. FL. that is it. I don’t see Cruz or Rubio doing it for different reasons.

Rubio’s immigration stance is his downfall in the south and southwest overrun by the INVASION OF ILLEGAL ALIENS.

Cruz banked on Evangelicals and Rubio and Trump together win most of them. Lets face it Cruz stands up and makes enemies and has accomplished almost nothing but making enemies. Rubio is so weak on amnesty, I can’t see how Rush can call him a conservative.
