This is also what I think.

I was also expecting a great deal of disillusionment from a "President McCain" or a "President Romney".

You simply cannot get a Candidate who is right-winged enough not to be a disappointment.

Trump didn't even start out from the right. He started out from the squishy middle-leaning-left.
