TRUMP UNIVERSITY HAS A 98% APPROVAL RATING. SO WHY IS NY AG ERIC SCHNEIDERMAN GOING AFTER THEM?

ABOUT THIS WEBSITE

This website was created to bring to the public's attention the gross incompetence of New York State Attorney General Eric T. Schneiderman. Despite letting the fat cats of Wall Street slip away without a single conviction following the worst financial collapse in this nation's history – leaving more than 20% of all homes in New York still underwater -- in the last year, Eric Schneiderman has instructed his office of more than 650 attorneys to instead focus their attention and significant taxpayer resources -- on far more mundane matters such as preventing the merger of two online food ordering services, cracking down on the owner of a Brooklyn tortilla factory for workers’ compensation violations and prosecuting a Suffolk car wash owner for not properly distributing tips to workers, all in an effort to pursue his own personal political agenda in advance of the next election.

In the case of Trump University, the situation is even more disturbing. While Schneiderman’s investigation into Trump University first arose out of a larger inquiry into for-profit schools that accepted federal funding, his office quickly learned that neither Trump University nor its students had ever received any form of federal funding, subsidies or other government aid -- and offered all of its students a 3 day money back guarantee if they were not completely satisfied.

Something stinks about it, too. If Trump defrauded people, why didn’t the AG file criminal charges?

Actually Trump University had a D- rating with the New York Better Business Bureau. In 2011 the name was changed from Trump University to Trump Entrepreneurial Initiative. At that point the past history was lost and the “school” started out with an A rating from the New York BBB. According to the BBB website the organization is no longer in business.

If 98% were satisfied, why didn’t Trump just refund the fees of the 2% who weren’t?

It’s not like he needs the money. Or maybe he’s not as well off as he tells us?

My understanding is that the ratings were given early in the program BEFORE they felt defrauded by the outcome.

I suspect it was like any other school, or other course. You have so much time to withdraw and after that pay in full.

If the AG doesn’t begin an investigation and the FBI doesn’t show up, you can bet there is nothing to it.

I was a board member of a club in NYC that the New York Times decided to ‘take out.’ They destroyed our reputation, our membership dropped, some of us lost our careers but because nothing criminal or even suspicious happened (unless you consider selling one asset criminal - as some members did) you can bet your bottom dollar that nothing serious occurred except the club eventually closed due to horrible publicity. Luckily, unlike us, The Donald has power and wealth to fight this kind of stuff.

New York is full of bitter losers who cry to the newspapers and the government. I’m sure Trump is well aware of this.

I have to admit, this issue is one that doesn’t really bother me. I’m a Cruz supporter.

What it looks like to me is that the “University” was pretty much a scam when it started and it got caught. (BBB rating from this period was a D-)

Then they changed their name and cleaned up their act. (BBB rating A)

From what I know, there was a time limit about refunding, at least one decided a year or more later she was “dissatisfied”, but also back out of the lawsuit. Also, again IIRC, the lawsuit involved scum lawyers trolling for a class action, who were later disbarred for other reasons. He may even have refunded some, I have no idea.

I read some of the linked site, but not every word.

She was handed the better rating last night and did kind of apologize after reading it.

Not only that but why isn’t it still open?

I’m sure it made a yuge amount of money and if customers were satisfied why did it fail and go out of business?

The fee was $15K. She stuck in there for $800K in legal fees. Who does that?
