North Korea fired two ballistic missiles Thursday morning, a South Korean military official said, in the latest controversial move amid U.S.-South Korean military drills that have angered the rogue state.
The two missiles flew about 310 miles at about 5:20 a.m. (3:20 p.m. Wednesday ET) and were fired from North Korea's northern shore, the military official said. Analysts said they were Scud-type missiles.
The apparent launch comes after heated rhetoric from North Korea in recent days that has included threats of a preemptive nuclear strike.

You go apologize to Japan and then stay there. The reason trump is winning is because we no longer apologize for being American ever. You would fit in with the Obama administration perfectly.
The ‘nice’ thing about nuclear weapons is that, unless you are targeting hardened missile launch sites, accuracy is not necessary.
It’s not Japan Bashing. He is putting them on notice that they will now be playing the Varsity team.
I come to this thread and see North Korea shooting a couple of scuds and the bellicose rhetoric of the little fat dictator and someone has the temerity to blame an American for it despite the fact he isn’t even a political hack. Sound familiar? Another leftist tactic of bait and switch.
My personal experience agrees with your observation. Away from military bases the Korean people are extremely nice, helpful and love Americans.
I’ve traveled that country extensively.
Not to pile on or anything :)
My neighbor fought in Korea, he goes there every once in a while on some kind of honor flight, he says the Koreans are very grateful and treat him like a hero when he goes.
I think they’re one of the good guys (from what I can tell). But yeah, let’s save a few bucks and not send $ to those who hate us, I just think it’s not Korea that is the problem.
I’m not saying they don’t hate us, I don’t know, I only know my neighbor gets treated well when he goes there.
I’ve known dozens of South Koreans over the years, including several who served in Vietnam with the ROK army. They have always treated me and other Americans warmly and with great respect. There are some South Koreans who resent our military presence there, but only because they believe (rightly or wrongly) that they could have handled North Korea in recent decades more effectively without our interposition.
AND any President should take advice from those who've been there on the battlefront at least to some degree. I'm wondering though if Bush listened a little too much and maybe that's what got us in this mess in the first place.
Our troops on the DMZ are merely a tripwire of sorts. If Mr. Ronery gets froggy, the “dmz” will be gone (along with 80% of our troops) in less than and hour. I pray for the troops because Seoul and the DMZ (north and south of it) will be hell on Earth.
I was just south of Seoul for a year. We were told at one point that an attack might happen. If it did we could expect 75% causalities, mostly from nerve agents.
There is a significant difference between groveling and being respectful.
South Korea pays for us to be there.
what does the word ballistic mean in the phrase intercontinental ballistic missile?
That would be a $hitty way to go...
Yes, that's what he said, Korea pays for him (and apparently you?) to go which also says alot about them. I just wasn't 100% sure if I heard him right so was afraid to say.
Like North Korea threatens us and not Japan. For the world to take this little scumbag down once and for all they will need the complete cooperation of the USA. Don't ever forget it. Any lives we lose in the matter will really be in defense of those in the region and not us. So you have it exactly backwards AND upside down, and that is exactly what Donald Trump realizes.
Not that we aren't going to be strong, but we aren't going to pretend that we need THEIR cooperation, when the truth is that they need OUR cooperation. Or that we need THEIR good graces to station our troops there, when the truth is that they need OUR good graces to station our troops there.
This kind of backward upside-downedness has been going on all my life. We really are stupid.
“Yes, that’s what he said, Korea pays for him (and apparently you?) to go which also says alot about them.”
Says a lot about who? We went because we were ordered too.
Is there something wrong with that?
Boy, did you take that wrong! :)
I meant the honor flight, I thought that’s what you were talking about. I believe he said that Korea pays for his honor flight.
That says alot about Korea, that they are willing to pay for the vets to come there so they can honor them. That’s a good thing.
