Ted Cruz Calls Alleged Sex Scandal 'Garbage,' But Hesitates To File Lawsuit
The Inquisitr ^ | March 29, 2016 | Val Powell

Several political figures have already poked their noses into the issue. Most say that if the allegations are indeed untrue, the Republican presidential candidate should have filed a case already.

On Monday, former Governor Mike Huckabee said that if the senator wants to fight these latest accusations about him, he should start by suing the publication. The governor even cited the lawsuit between Gawker and former WWE wrestler Hulk Hogan adding, "I think he’s got a terrific opportunity to file the lawsuit. And, that’s the way to fight some of this stuff."

They’ve been in business since 1926 and they’ve been accurate four times? Amazing.

I think Huckabee is a Trump supporter. His legal advice to Cruz is absolutely ridiculous.

Go Trump!

More than that; Tiger Woods, the Clinton stuff, Jesse Jackson Jr. and his wife’s stealing. And that’s just the stuff I know about, because it’s been posted to FR.

Camp Red Cloud (I Corps G-2) in Uijongbu the first time, Camps Hovey and Casey, in Dongduchon (102nd Military Intelligence Battalion) the second time.

Indignant about the allegations? Yes.
Fighting to protect his “honor and character” in Court? No. Wonder why. It’s been almost a week. Lawsuits can be filed almost immediately. But, not here. Strange. Very strange.

Huckabee can not be that stupid to make legally equivalent the Gawker case and the Enquirers's "there are some rumors out there" story. And he is legal idiot if he reaqlly beleive his statement of "he’s got a terrific opportunity to file the lawsuit".

Well some say they have 11 stories correct, but your point is made. Gotta see the backup evidence.

His legal advice to Cruz is absolutely ridiculous.

Agreed. It's the classic big lie. A few active posters online repeat the rumors about Cruz until people think there must be something behind the rumors. Then the same active posters repeat the advice to file a lawsuit even though it's bad advice. Cruz cannot win without proving actual malice (because he's a public figure), but people think suing sounds like good advice, so they assume failure to file a useless lawsuit proves there is something behind the rumor machine.

It's sad. Dr. Ben Carson's reputation was trashed, probably with no basis. Now Cruz is going through the same thing, again probably with no basis. I have a bad feeling not just about this election, but about the next decade or more for America. Things are likely to get indescribably ugly.

Perception matters. Right now he is perceived as dodging the question. He can turn that around in an instant, yet he declines every opportunity to do so. Cruz’s problems are caused by Cruz.
