Palestinian Perfidy Warrants Death
Arutz Sheva ^ | 4/4/2016 | William A. Levinson

The Israel Network posted this video of two Palestinians who were caught using an ambulance to transport a suicide belt inside a stretcher. Under the laws of war that prevailed universally through most of the 20th century, the driver, and passengers if complicit, would have been stood up against the nearest wall and shot. The laws of the United States, in fact, still provide for any punishment short of death for an act of perfidy if the perfidy does not result in the deaths of innocent people, and execution if the perfidy results in fatalities. Item 19 relates specifically to the misuse of the Red Cross or Red Crescent to transport combatants and/or or munitions.

(17) Using treachery or perfidy.-- Any person subject to this chapter who, after inviting the confidence or belief of one or more persons that they were entitled to, or obliged to accord, protection under the law of war, intentionally makes use of that confidence or belief in killing, injuring, or capturing such person or persons shall be punished, if death results to one or more of the victims, by death or such other punishment as a military commission under this chapter may direct, and, if death does not result to any of the victims, by such punishment, other than death, as a military commission under this chapter may direct.

(18) Improperly using a flag of truce.-- Any person subject to this chapter who uses a flag of truce to feign an intention to negotiate, surrender, or otherwise suspend hostilities when there is no such intention shall be punished as a military commission under this chapter may direct.

(19) Improperly using a distinctive emblem.--

Q: What does Israel get when it bombs a Palestinian or UNRWA school or hospital? A: Secondary explosions.

(It should be unnecessary to explain that genuine schools and hospitals do not contain energetic materials that cause secondary explosions, although ammunition magazines emphatically do.)

Ignoring the reality of the situation has resulted over time, in a close majority of Israelis thinking that expulsion of the Muslims from Israel may be the only sensible thing to do.

This realization is a breakthrough of sorts, the acceptance of reality. And hopefully the idea has momentum.

The wishy-washy response of Israel for decades has just made its problems much worse.

(17) Using treachery or perfidy.-- Any person subject to this chapter who, after inviting the confidence or belief of one or more persons that they were entitled to, or obliged to accord, protection under the law of war[political honesty and decency], intentionally makes use of that confidence or belief in killing, injuring, or capturing such person or persons shall be punished, if death results to one or more of the victims, by death or such other punishment as a military commission under this chapter may direct, and, if death does not result to any of the victims, by such punishment, other than death, as a military commission under this chapter may direct.

Let's make this applicable to politicians and the whole world will be better off.

“Not sure the issue of the death penalty is all that important in combatting terror in Israel.”

Ok, then, let the world and the thinking terrorist families consider Israel “compassionate” for giving terrorists the “human right” to 72 virgins soon after sentencing.

The death penalty does need to be allowed; it’s not now, except for that one exception that occurred in the case of Adolf Eichmann.

Different country, not really my business whether they have a death penalty for simple murder. However Israel seems to handle terrorism better than most if not all countries, given their size and the number of their enemies. And I doubt it would be much of an additional disincentive to killers intent on suicide. On the other hand, destroying families homes if they’ve been of assistance or had knowledge is an excellent idea, condemned by the left worldwide. One which seems to be effective.
