I’m sick of the word conservative. I thas lost all meaning - much like the word racist. Everyone thinks he or she is a conservative. Heck, even Rubio claims to be a conservative, as does Jeb Brush. Who cares what Rubio said? He’s out of the race and Cruz is next.

Dale Jr is leading the last lap at Daytona with such a lead that even running out of gas will ensure a victory. Danica Patrick is a distant second and the crowd is on their feet cheering for Junior. As Junior comes to lap Ricky Stenhouse during the final stretch, Stenhouse slams his car into Junior and takes him out of the race. Danica coasts to an easy win.

I thought Silver was pushing his model a few weeks ago that projected Trump getting the necessary 1237. He changes it every week after the latest state primary. Kind of like picking a pennant winner and changing each day depending on the last game’s results. Can never be wrong that way.

Conservative means the same thing it has always meant. Ted Cruz is a conservative. Donald Trump is not.

Nate Silver? The guy who used to be right all the time until he started being wrong all the time?

It’s exciting that a conservative might win the republican nomination

I suppose it would only realistically apply to the first ballot. At this point, I’m anxious for the party to coalesce around Mr. Trump so that he can have more time to prepare for the general election. Having to work overtime to battle Cruz and Kasich is delaying his ability to gain a head start against Clinton or Sanders. In my opinion, Cruz is being selfish and Kasich is being delusional.
May the democrats actually end up with a contested convention in Philadelphia while the GOP indeed revels in a grand celebration of Mr. Trump’s first ballot nomination in Cleveland!!!

There was a rule that you had to win 8 contests or your name wasn’t able to be put in nomination.

So a simple majority of total delegates seems the election cycle much harder than other cycles where 17 candidates where running.

I am sure Trump will have 1100 delegates but so many are bound to people who left the race and under no circumstance meet the eligibility requirement to be nominated.
Only Trump an Cruz meet the requirments to be nominated, except because of poor planning by the RNC they should not have let you into the debates unless you had at least 8-10 percent of the vote.

The rule should be because of the above that you need a simple majority of the delegates that are allowed into nomination.

That would mean only Trump and Cruz delegates. The Kasich plus other = 398
So the simple majority should be reduce mathematically by half of that 199.

The eligible delegates allowed to vote would then be 1237 - 199 = 1038 for a simple majority of allowed delegates.

Do the math yourself

The convention is a few days affair, no big delay in taking on the Dems no matter what goes down.

Schmuck, how many delegates will Slick Teddie win or steal AFTER he is mathematically eliminated on Tuesday?

"Did someone not say that Trump could still get it at 1,100 delegates?"

That was one person's opinion.

That’s your opinion - not mine. And, my opinion matters as much as yours. Ted is a fake, fraud and phony - a Bush Republican - always has been and always will be. Do your homework.

Trump is a demagogue, who has supported the same politicians and policies that have done so much damage to this country. Do yourhomework.

Yes...if he can find 137 unbound delegates to go along with him. Which is far from a sure thing...

Wow... I just clicked on a website, and this ad popped up:

Should Louisiana's Republican Convention Delegates DUMP Donald Trump? Cast Your Vote Now!

Urgent LA Conservative Voter Poll
Sponsored by Sound Money Defense League & Liberty Headlines

Should LA's Republican Convention Delegates DUMP Donald Trump?
Cast Your Vote Now!

The choices are:

YES: Donald Trump is not a true conservative, and he's offended too many voters to win the general election.

NO: Donald Trump has more delegates, and he has the best chance of getting elected president.

.

.

You have to enter your email address to answer the poll and see the answers, and the result was:

YES: 16.32% -- 289 votes

NO: 83.68% -- 1483 votes

.

.

The address of the ad/poll is this... When you change the letters highlighted in red to any other two letters, it changes the poll to read whatever two letters you put in that place:
