Priebus dismisses Trump's 'rigged' claims as a lot of hot air

Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus on Sunday dismissed Donald Trump’s claims of a delegate-selection system “rigged” against him as “rhetoric and hyperbole.”

“I’m not at odds” with Trump, Preibus said on CNN’s “State of the Union.”

“You’re not at odds, but it sure sounds like he is,” CNN host Dana Bash replied.

“It depends on what you think,” Preibus said, repeating his claim that Trump’s criticisms were all rhetoric and hyperbole. “There’s nothing that the RNC can do to alter the rules between now and the convention [in mid-July]; it’s not the RNC’s place. So, I don’t sit here and internalize the charge, because there’s nothing the RNC can do about it.”

“It sure sounded like he was threatening you,” Bash said, asking about Trump’s remark that the convention in Cleveland could prove difficult for the GOP.

“First of all, they’re not RNC rules,” Priebus said regarding specific complaints about the delegate-allocation process. “Each individual state determines how they’re going to allocate their delegates. So, it’s up to the campaigns to know the rules and compete in each of those states within the rules.”

Asked about Trump’s claim that rival Ted Cruz was running on a voter-disenfranchisement strategy, the GOP chairman sought to stay above the fray.

“I’m not going to get in the middle of a candidate back-and-forth, but it’s important for the candidates to understand that the majority of delegates is the goal, and you need to play within the confines of the rules to make sure that you get there,” Priebus said.

I’d never have believed that GOP could be best likened to Union Leadership. But there it is, there they are, in all their union glory doing what they damned well want.

I hope Trump gets first ballot and all the ones after that, if any, and then turns to Preibus and says: “YOUR FIRED!!!” right on the convention floor...the building would cave in from all the people cheering and yelling in favor of that happening!!!

Given that the political party conventions for nominating a candidate for POTUS have little to do with the process for electing a president enumerated in the Constitution by the Founding States, I don’t know where Mr. Priebus is coming from.
”Article II, Section 1, Clause 2: Each State shall appoint, in such Manner as the Legislature thereof may direct, a Number of Electors, equal to the whole Number of Senators and Representatives to which the State may be entitled in the Congress: but no Senator or Representative, or Person holding an Office of Trust or Profit under the United States, shall be appointed an Elector.

12th Amendment: The Electors shall meet in their respective states, and vote by ballot for President and Vice-President, one of whom, at least, shall not be an inhabitant of the same state with themselves; ..."

Patriots need to understand that, since they grew up with a POTUS nomination process corrupted by constitutionally undefined political parties, they wrongly think that the process somehow compliments the Constitution.

Preibus is in on the scam - it’s as if pretending it’s on the up and up will make it so.

Funny. If Rince Pissonus thinks it’s just hot air, why is he out there defending
the GOP quite often.

Pissonus is making it a big deal by talking about it.

That would be sweet.

But Trump is more likely to say "Mr. Preibus....We have an opening in maintenance at Trump Tower".

But of course, Trump will just start steering HIS party to straighten out this ridiculous, chaotic system.

The media is flogging hard to stir up fire and brimstone and violence, at the National Convention.

Ratings hit, don’t cha know.

It’s been a jolt for Americans to realize their vote does not count, except only to quantify how many earned delegates each state allocates to the winner, from the state popular vote.

Who knew the winner’s delegates would be rejected and replaced with those of his opponent who was the loser?

Who knew the voters choice, also known as *democracy*, would be sneered out?

I mean. LOL! It is really too funny.

The winner loses.

The loser wins.

The party is totally imploded.

The loser loses again, in November.

Who does this stuff??

Mr. Trump needs to bring Rence Preibus up on a charge of High Treason the day after he is inaugurated.
