When a devastating earthquake leveled Haiti in 2010, millions of people donated to the American Red Cross. The charity raised almost half a billion dollars. It was one of its most successful fundraising efforts ever.
The American Red Cross vowed to help Haitians rebuild, but after five years the Red Cross' legacy in Haiti is not new roads, or schools, or hundreds of new homes. It's difficult to know where all the money went.
Never let a crisis go to waste.
Doesn’t surprise me one bit. Next is the tika virus.
Beat me to it ... check babba’s pockets ... AND pappa smurf !
Kleptocrats.
I recall reading that Hillary visited the UN and got them to run American relief money through the Clinton Foundation. Then, when I went looking for the article again, I couldn’t find it. They probably raked off a handling fee.
It’s good to be the queen.
The Clintons raised over $175 million from their Haiti relief effort and kept all but about $5-8 million of it.
bUbba ... not bAbba ... except when he speaks ... then hes babbaling
“It’s difficult to know where all the money went.”
Not really. Not really.
Red cross is not Christian anymore is it?
To the Clinton Foundation.
So who knows?
As the Boy Scouts need to be reformed and their corporate structure cast out, so too does the same thing have to happen to the Red Cross and many other charity organizations who have fallen victim to the corporate structure overriding their purpose.
When you’re required to fundraise tens of millions to pay for salaries and deferred benefits, your focus becomes meeting that goal. The Red Cross used to have a core group of paid professionals who could come in and organize teams of volunteers to handle disasters, a design that could be scaled up to handle incredibly complex disasters. Then they installed the HR department and executives became a corporate cadre of an echo chamber who had no idea how to handle a disaster, but could dazzle corporate donors.
Which of course puts them under the control of the brainwashed corporate donors as well.
Recall W and Bill visited Haiti after collection of huge amount of money?
Clinton
My first thought.
You speak my language.
What a world we live in.
Just a wild stab in the dark, but try finding where the 50 years of New Orleans Emergency Flood Control Money went - other than ‘plush’ jobs for contributors etc.
Try finding where the Washington Metro Billions for ‘rainy day fund’ etc went especially now when the whole system is apparently falling apart.
Sorry WMATA, but when a long time board member (or whatever they are called) ‘apologizes’ for the system - from the top down, ‘fell asleep’ for 15 years, it just doesn’t cut it.
A few years back (on the day the Florida Air flight crashed into the 14th St bridge), the Subway also had a problem with a fatal crash in one of its tunnels.
Hundreds of lame excuses popped up - the most damning for those of us that —’grew up’ during Civil Defense and shelter drills - That there was no way for the tunnel and above ground to communicate the Emergency channels, outside people came in to help and their equipment wasn’t compatible. That is ok if a NY or NJ radio doesn’t talk to a VA/DC/MD BUT when the surrounding counties do not have communications with DC, just a waste of time.
Collect money, form new panels, seat new boards etc and flash forward to 2015 with a fire in a tunnel faily close to the VA line so responders showed up and AGAIN the ‘first complaint’ was the tunnel couldn’t communidate with topside and different orgs couldn’t ‘talk’ to each other.
Didn’t someone put clinton in charge of haiti relief?
Is Haiti on the route to,Epsteins pedophile island that Bill visited often? ?
yep , check the Clinton Foundation
Hilda’s 47 sub-foundations....one big web of sh*t and corruption.
In 1968 one afternoon during basic training we were marched over to Red Cross on base and ‘ordered’ to volunteer to give blood. I did. We’d just been out all afternoon in the sun drilling and after I gave blood, I got a thimble full of juice. I asked for one more and the lady basically told me to get the f@ck out.
Last time I ever gave the Red Cross sh!t.
