Hillary Clinton has secured enough delegates to win the Democratic presidential nomination, according to the Associated Press, emerging from a long and bruising primary season to become the first woman to lead a major party in the race for the White House.
A bitter nomination battle that Clinton was once expected to win in a walk ended abruptly late Monday, as she claimed exactly the number of delegates needed to secure victory in her contest against Sen. Bernie Sanders of Vermont, according the APs latest tally.
Clinton was widely expected even inside her own campaign to clinch the nomination Tuesday, when California, New Jersey and four other states are scheduled to vote. But according to the AP, Clinton continued to pick up new commitments from delegates over the weekend and on Monday that effectively guarantee her the nomination.
With that milestone, the former first lady, U.S. senator and secretary of state has ended more than two centuries of national history in which only men have been the standard-bearers for the major political parties. She also overcame her own crushing loss in the 2008 Democratic primary against Barack Obama, as well as a political environment this year that favored outsiders at the expense of Clintons establishment credentials. And she became the first spouse of a former president to win the presidential nomination.

This story is not true. She cannot secure the nomination until superdelegates vote at the convention.
Yeah, but look who she ran against. Put her up against some well known and respected Democrat, oh, wait, is there one?
It’s too early for America to have a “hysterical” first female president. We’re going to need at least 20 or 30 years to clean up the garbage left by America’s moronical first black president. Americans need a break.
24 hrs of propaganda meant to suppress the Bernie vote.
Hillary is a woman?
I had no idea!
Cankles sure is good at keeping secrets.
I always wondered about that. Is there some rule or form that the superdelegates fill out that requires them to vote for a stated choice, or is that still optional?
It’s still too early to pop the champagne and for Bill to break out the Havana cigars, so to speak.
More lies from the Wash Post.
Superdelegates haven’t voted.
Bernie hasn’t left the race.
I know this script was written at least since last week - Chris Matthews got drunk (it’s a day that ends in ‘y’ after all) and let slip that Hillary would clinch the night before the Cali primary.
(Clinch the nomination... what were you thinking?)
Yup, its time for a woman president, no matter who she is. So says the MSM and the low information vote.
The Witch needs to pick an hispanic transsexual running mate to complete the historic meme.
Bernie is trying to turn the super delegates as we type...
They all have the option to change their minds up to the moment they cast their votes. In some cases local laws may require them to vote for the winner of their district/state.
Until they vote, Clinton has not clinched this nomination. Not now, not after California. She will need a couple of hundred superdelegates to put her over the top at the convention.
I BADLY WANT them to keep talking like this.
I want the Berners to be SUPER pissed..!
REALLY praying he takes Calif 2morrow cuz I KNOW their machine is going to whip around and HAND it to QUEEN Hillary.
Philly is going to be Soooooo funnnn...!
Obola was our first woman pResident.
Cankles would our first PIAPS pResident.
It’s really hard to believe that so many are in Hillary’s corner...What is wrong with these people???
WP doing everything possible to supress Sanders voters. Internal polling is prob in his favor.
Yep.
Fake timed for California’s primary tomorrow.
Bingo. AP actively trying to throw the California primary to Her Cankleness. Disgusting, but not unexpected, from the vermin at AP.
