Yeah, that’s another thing that I’ve seen over the past forty years. I’ve probably bumped into at least eight people who said they were at Woodstock. One of them would have been around 12 years old at the time, which I pointed out to him, and he claims that he went there with a cousin.
It’s like the Desert Storm thing....you bump into people all the time now who say they were there. Or you bump into people who claim to have personally met Elvis.
most folks who have been here and done that will never tell anyone that they did. like the WWII veteran who got blown up by a mortar in France after D-Day, spent a year in the hospital and would never tell anyone the harrowing story. people who claim glory and attendance are for the most part just useless gasbags.
I simply wish that I could claim that I was in attendance at Fenway Park when Ted Williams had his last at-bat. There were less than 9000 people there!
I’d wanted to go to Woodstock, but I was only 15 and my parents said no way.
Funny thing is, I remember reading in the newspapers at the time how it was a disaster with all the mud and rain.
Back in my drinking days, I met a number of guys on bar stools who claimed to be ex-SEALS. None of them was Jesse Ventura.
