Robichaud: Picking Elizabeth Warren as VP would be kiss of death
Boston Herald ^ | 6/27/16 | Holly Robichaud

Someone needs to send an apology to Ohio.

I did not vote for Elizabeth Warren, so you cannot blame me for what is about to happen.

Today, our Massachusetts nightmare hits the campaign trail for the Democratic presidential ticket. U.S. Sen. Warren will be stumping with Hillary Clinton in the swing state.

Will they do a sit-in to demand votes for the ticket? That’s the only way they are going to get support for this already flawed ticket if Warren is chosen for the vice presidential slot.

It’s no surprise that Warren is being considered. She has been working hard to earn her spot. I don’t mean in accomplishments for the people she serves. Forget Massachusetts — Warren has spent her days toiling away for Democratic candidates all across this country. On a daily basis, she sends out fundraising emails begging for money for liberal candidates. Please note that she failed to send one out for Clinton until recently.

For the amount of fundraising Warren does for Democrats, it is hard to distinguish her from the actual Democratic National Committee Chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz. Who knew being elected U.S. senator from the commonwealth was all about raising money for the party? Can you imagine the outcry from Democrats if Scott Brown had spent most of his time in the Senate campaigning for fellow Republicans rather than doing his job?

If there is any accountability left within the mainstream media, certain issues such as higher education, profiting from property investments and affirmative action would be off the table with Warren as the VP nominee.

How can a Clinton-Warren ticket talk about the cost of college education with a straight face? As we all know, Lizzy got paid $300,000 for teaching one class. Despite the complete hypocrisy, they will be shameless demagogues on the issue.

Warren’s as-yet unsupported claims of Native American heritage have a much better chance of damaging the ticket, because this gross abuse of an affirmative action claim undermines Clinton’s base support. While certain Massachusetts media outlets have avoided coming down hard on her, the national media probably will not accept the “family lore” explanation of “high cheek bones.” There will be pressure on her to publicly release all of her job and school applications to see where she checked the box.

Picking Warren as vice president would most likely be the kiss of death for the Clinton ticket. No matter whether Republican or Democratic, candidates from Massachusetts sink on the national stage.

I wish she would pick Warren. Can you imagine the daily cat fight at the White House with these two!

Do you hear what you are saying?

She wouldn’t even be the first Native American Vice President. Charles Curtis (VP under Hoover) was part-Indian...genuinely so.

The Hag has to cover her left flank. Red Bernie drove her further and further left and yet she still couldn’t win the kook base of the Party and she has to have to kook communist left to win in November, only Bernie or Fauchontas gives her a chance at these little Bolsheviks votes.

If you haven't had your laugh of the day yet, catch the sight of Hillary the Haggard and Pocahauntus campaigning in their blue, matching Tweedledeedee and Tweedledeedumb costumes.

Are they going arm-in-arm, door-to-door trick-or-treating tonight?

Anyone got a photo???

My best guess is, Trump being as fast learner as he is, knows very well voter memories are notoriously short. Election is more than 4 months away. He does not want to peak too early by spending lot of money prematurely.

Reality is 40-45% of voters are lefties and will vote
Hilda even if she picks convicted congressman Chaka Fatah for running mate.
35-40% of voters will pull for Trump no matter what.

So it boils down to the remaining 20%, especially in battle ground 10 states.
Let us hope Trump has a October surprise in the bag and
is keeping powder dry for that.

Wouldn’t they have to win, first?
