Sanders dealt trade defeat at Democrat platform meeting (Hillary Delegates Stop Anti-TPP)

Bernie Sanders supporters lost a debate over international trade that divided Democrats during a meeting in Orlando on Saturday to draft their party platform.

Sanders supporters had hoped the party's official position statement for 2016 would include language explicitly rejecting the Trans-Pacific Partnership, while backers of Hillary Clinton, the presumptive nominee, argued for softer language.

Both presidential candidates oppose the controversial trade agreement, but it was championed by President Barack Obama, leaving the party in an awkward position.

Um, no ONLY Bernie really opposes TPP. Hillary only PRETENDS to oppose what she called the "gold standard" of trade deals for strictly political reasons which is why she will pick TPPKaine for VP.

A lot of traditional dems don’t like those trade deals. This should increase Trump’s ability to win their votes.
