He didn’t have a RAP SHEET??
And the waters just get muddier and muddier
Oh man... This is bad for LEO. Head on a swivel guys.
IN that county or is permitted statewide?
But, did he have a driver’s license for his present address? Was the address on his carry license correct?
Who, when stopped by the police, has a gun partially covered, on their lap, and then makes a move toward that area?
Not buying this leak, which appears to confirm the narrative, just yet. I will wait until all the facts are released. And I hope they will be!
Endless traffic violations, including driving without a license and insurance on multiple occasions as well as having pot in the car but, of course, he was an innocent victim. Personally, if he saved the life of one pedestrian who crossed his path, I’m happy he’s gone to happy hunting grounds...
He didn’t live in Hennepin county at the time of his demise. He failed to update his permit with his new address within 30 days with Ramsey County.
Another misdemeanor.
This is ugly.
What do ya know!!
I am re-posting what I posted recently on another dated thread.
The attorney of the officer involved in the shooting who told the media it was the police who have their own audio and VIDEO of this event. If this is in fact true, theyve had time to review the audio/video 2,000 times. And this is a one shooter investigation which should not be overly complex or difficult. Id guess theyre dragging their feet here for some reason. I dont know what the reason would be.
Btw, it was Reynolds attorney who publicly challenged the city/cops to release the video, same as his client did with hers.
Just pure speculation here, but if the officer really thought this was a suspect in an Armed Robbery this event should have never happened like it did. And I will tell you why.
Since this was a suspected Armed Robbery suspect, this should have been a felony traffic stop, where once the suspect vehicle stops, officers order the vehicle occupants out of the vehicle, one at a time, hands up, walk backwards towards the officers etc, etc. Most have seen the routine on TV many times. This is done for officer safety as well as the vehicle occupants.
I am only saying this based on the existing media reports/video/evidence and comments from the players involved.
Btw, I have actually been attacked personally for simply looking critically at what is being reported so far and offering my thoughts. I personally think they have some real issues here.
Could I be wrong? Yes. But we shall see.
WHY did it take so long to produce?
Most regs say that that your permit be within reaching distance to be produced when LEO asks for it.
Did anyone check the font?
Where is Dan Rather?
Where is Mary Mapes?
(HAVE DOCUMENTS WILL TRAVEL)
I still think the two in the car were going to ‘harass’ the cop into saying something incriminating so it could be used at a later date.
Kind of hard to hold ones composure, set up your phone for a FB broadcast when you are sitting in a car a couple of feet from a person who just got blown away ESPECIALLY when your kid is in the back seat - be able to narrate everything with a calm steady voice - you would at least think she would be in an ‘excited’ state of mind and YELLING as should most certainly had to suffer some sort of hearing loss - however temporary..
Either she has stumbled onto a ‘good’ shock or she is used to being around violence
CCW permit is not relevant. The deceased matched the description of an armed robber and seemingly reached for his pistol. All lives are better for his demise.
One of those...."What's wrong with this picture?"
Ha ha ha. Now everyone can shut up about his license to carry.
Why aren't cops clamoring for these to protect themselves?
FReepers get it sorted out!
It does not mean he had a permit to disregard police instructions while being pulled over.
The reason he was shot was not because he had a gun; it was because he was not following instructions while he was showing his gun.
So, in the officer's mind, he was not able to determine whether or not he was reaching for the gun, or his ID. And reaching for the ID would be harmless, but reaching for the gun might have been fatal to the officer. He had one, maybe two seconds to figure out what the guy was doing. Guess wrong, and your dead. In any case, it was Castile who was adding the danger to the situation.
A lot of twisting and turning here but the carriers permit is being used as a “state of mind” defense of the victim. He isn’t the kind of guy that would pull a gun on cop. Those kinds of guys don’t get licensed by the government. They don’t willingly get background checked.
It’s very likely this guy made the mistake of announcing he had a gun, thinking he was doing the officer a favor and it cost him his life.
No amount of traffic tickets is worth dying over and it’s obvious the guy wasn’t a huge piece of shit gang banger.
