I would not expect the NYT to spin it in any way other than that.
Since Hillary's correspondence was done outside of the official government communications and security system which was not authorized or sanctioned by the United States government, I'd say it was not entitled to any status as protected information. Legally, it was fair game to be hacked by anyone and not a violation of any diplomatic protocols.

What Trump actually said was hilarious. Now the press will challenge him about it for DAYS, and he gets to enjoy himself with his answers every single time – on turf that is a Hillary death pit and 100% safe ground for him.
I disagree. Reminding the public the Hillary deleted 30k emails and that the Russians likely have them and we do not is brilliant. It is something that hurts Hillarat the more it is talked about.
Maybe the press should work on its sense of humor. It’s sad that we have to label things as “sarcasm” or “humorous” or “ironic.” Does anyone understand context anymore?
