This nation has a right to keep out those who would want to destroy it.
Trumps point was a valid one. The DNC convention, in case you did not notice, was not a funeral or a memorial for fallen American soldiers. It was a big fun festival built around the goal of getting Hillary elected.
The father was not grieving. He was trying to make political hay out of his dead son while his silent wife (women are 3/5ths of a person according to Saudi law) stood next to him like a paper weight.
Two of my kids and my SIL have been in Iraq. I’ve been in Afghanistan, as has my son. The husbands of both of my nieces have been in Iraq.
Since this couple is using their son’s death to suggest all Muslims can immigrate to America without a problem, I have no respect for them. None of the family I’ve got who have spent time in the ME - heck none of the guys I served with over there - support allowing significant Muslim immigration. I can see allowing some to come - interpreters who worked for us and who are in danger of being murdered for doing so...but other than that, no Muslims need to enter the US. As long as Islam is as much a political system as a religious one, it has no business in the USA.

It was low to bring this man on stage to degrade his son’s bravery. I suppose they were trying to counter the families of fallen patriots who were rightly angry at Hillary and Obama.

The father turned his sons death into a political statement against Trump, who had said nothing about the son. Trump has a right to respond.
