The Asian American Coalition for Education lodged a complaint with Department of Education last Wednesday, accusing Cornell and Columbia University of discriminating against an Asian student in the admissions process.
The complaint, filed within the Office of Civil Rights, claims that Hubert Zhao ...was unjustly denied admission to both schools last year.
Zhao is an outstanding student with excellent academic and extracurricular achievements, a 5.3 GPA and high PSAT and SAT scores, according to the AACE website. He and an Indian American classmate were the only students in their 700-person class who qualified as National Merit semifinalists.
While other students from different racial groups in his high school, with objectively and often significantly lower academic and extracurricular credentials, were admitted to some of the top 20 universities, neither Zhao nor his classmate were accepted to any of these schools, the website said.
AACE Vice President Jack Ouyang said in an online statement that Zhaos experience is another example of the widespread and systematic illegal discrimination against Asian American students by many colleges.

Asian American
Indian American
African American
I have no sympathy for anyone who puts whatever in front of American. If you hold American citizenship, you're American, period. That has nothing to do with your race. Asian is a race. American is a citizen of America. The two are not the same.
This discrimination BS has been going on for decades in liberal California Universities.
You cracked the code why these high achievers are discriminated against by the liberal hell hole universities.
Of course they discriminate against Asians - and Whites.
If they didnt discriminate those groups they would lose their precious diversity. The vast majority of the student body would be Asian or White.
Cant have that.
