Here “you” means the recruit.
You can not blame others for your mental breakdown when you have given no warning signs, such as by seeking relief.
I just specifically said otherwise.
Well sure you did. And then you went right back to claiming that the guy did this on the spur of the moment, and nobody could have foreseen it.
That is diametrically opposed to your statement.
So in your opinion no woman has ever been raped if they didn't report it.
The suicide was a spur of the moment decision. There were no warning signs, such as seeking relief of any sort.
Another ridiculous analogy.
You are really slow aren’t you.
The very act of this guy committing suicide without reasoned cause reveals there was something else going on.
You really can’t grasp that can you.
Hey, he didn’t report abuse so it never happened.
That’s your test, not mine.
So if a rape is not reported, it didn’t happen.
And if the woman commits suicide a day later for no cause the rape could possibly have something to do with it.
That’s your brilliant reasoning (/s) up to now.
You operate with benefit of hindsight. And you routinely throw in personal comments.
C ya later
I don’t think it takes hindsight to realize something else was going on here other than a simple suicide without cause.
I responded with a reasoned explanation for what took place, based on this DI’s own record. You should be able to understand that.
It wasn’t my intent to go at you this way, but you refused to admit that the DI could easily have been the causing factor here.
People don’t just commit suicide because they are denied a trip to the infirmary on demand.
Children are told no every day and cope with it. Adults are face with nos just about every day. They deal with it.
There are one of two things up here. Either the DI and whoever joined him to give this guy a hard time ultimately caused this, or the recruit got some terrible news from home that factored in, and then the DI and company were only contributing factors. Failing anything else going on in this guy’s life, the DI and his crew are the only factors.
Something other than just being told now, you can’t go to the infirmary caused this.
To this point, you will not agree with that.
That is unfortunate.
I’m not upset with you. I’ve got no beef with out other than this point.
Take care.
You refuse to admit that the DI could not have known the recruit would kill himself.
> People dont just commit suicide because they are denied a trip to the infirmary on demand.
Again with your straw man. Which I have several times told you is not what I am saying.
At this point you’re trolling. Good bye.
At his point Ray76, you’ve left no doubt you simply will not listen to reason and admit you are wrong.
The DI was integral to this and you damn well know it.
Trolling? pot / kettle...
You have not provided one single alternative contributing factor to this man's death. I have. I did based on this DI's record. You acknowledged that record was problematic. Now you defend the DI as if he had a pristine record, despite the fact it was reported that he had recently called this guy a terrorist.
For that reason you can claim until hell freezes over what you are not saying, but the result is, at this point you are still addressing this as only happening because the recruit had a character flaw.
People don't just kill themselves because they don't have good character. They do so because they are so beaten down that they see no other way out.
This man was beaten down. His DI and crew were the only ones who had access to him. You figure it out. Baring no contributing factors from home, there's only one driving force here. I've named it.
Wash racks are gone at Paris Island, they are still being used at San Diego. Only PT gear goes into a washer in San Diego. Too many recruits were getting jock itch from not getting the PT gear clean enough at the wash rack.
Amazing feats have been performed due to the sugar high from consuming an ill-stashed jelly donut./s
FWIW, the harassment package is one of the few things that will preserve men in combat. Make no doubt about it. When placed in harm's way, humans behave differently to adversity. If they can't take the intentionally created high stress environment of boot camp, their reactions won't improve in combat.
I have found that I only function well in high stress jobs. The Marine Corps did that to me. I’ve had 1 job since I retired that had zero stress and I hated it with a passion. Left it as soon as I could. The job I have now is very high stress and I’m a happy camper.
