This is shockingly stupid, not just because it’s moronic but also because of the unintended consequences. Wouldn’t acting like mispronouncing a name is a crime discourage teachers from using names at all? Liberals are not just petty tyrants at heart; they are stupid petty tyrants.

Absurdity upon absurdity from California. They just can't get enough of tweaking our common sense.
When I hear that term again, I guarantee that I will commit a MACROAGGRESSION! Yeesh...

They’re inadvertently going to end up penalizing teachers that they’d want to protect. ESL people butcher names far worse than native English speakers.
Provide a pronunciation key for every name, that’s what they’ll have to do. And, teachers will still get tripped up on the hard ones. Thai names are especially challenging.
To: C19fan
Or if you don’t know how to pronounce the name of a black student, who has an unusual name with an apostrophe in it, can you be brought up on racism charges???
Ditto with students of Hispanic descent, if you don’t pronounce their names with a Spanish inflection?
Ditto with students from some middle eastern or Arab background, if you don’t pronounce their names with the proper Arabic inflection???
Liberals Are taking this way too far.

Glad that this guy
never felt he was 'micro-aggressed' when someone mispronounced his symbol.
To: C19fan
Parents that give their kids weird ass names are setting them up for a life full of microaggressions then. There’s just no way you could get some of these names right without hearing it spoken first.

And before you get all defensive about the bigotry thing, lets be clear: Discovering that something you do might be construed as bigotry doesnt mean anyone is calling you a bigot, Gonzalez adds. Its just an opportunity to grow. An opportunity to understand that doing something a little differently shows others that you respect them. In other words, they get to insult you, but you're not allowed to call it an insult because it never happened when they do it. Even though it actually IS a microaggresion.
This is childhood hypocrisy rulemaking fantasies from recess. These people are totally insane - and cruel as hell. They just sit around fantasizing nightmares to hurt people who they know are completely innocent of doing any harm.
I've said it before and its still true - the sickest, most destructive perverts of all work for schools.
