FBI agents find more than 1,600 shell casings at boat launch, ammo...(OREGON STANDOFF TRIAL)
OregonLive ^ | 9/26/2016 | Maxine Bernstein

Posted on 09/27/2016 3:59:38 AM PDT by Nextrush

Jurors on Monday watched a video of seven or eight men rapidly firing assault rifles from the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge's boat launch.

FBI agents then help up several plastic evidence bags containing the 1,627 spent shell casings recovered near the launch on the northeast side of the property. Of them, 1,050 were .223-caliber casings, testimony showed.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Ethan Knight argued that the video, posted on co-defendant Jason Blomgren's Facebook account, directly contradicts the argument by defense lawyers and defendants that the armed takeover of the refuge was a peaceful political protest.

"It's direct evidence of force," Knight told the judge before she ruled that the video could be shown to jurors.

Attorney Marcus Mumford, representing takeover leader Ammon Bundy, had argued that firing the guns wasn't an act of force in and of itself and that the video wasn't publicly posted on Blomgren's account but sent in a message to Blomgren's father.

U.S. District Judge Anna J. Brown said a rational juror could conclude the video provides evidence of the defendants' intent in the alleged conspiracy.....

In one bunkroom, defendant Neil Wampler's belongings were removed from a suitcase, including his membership card for the National Rifle Association.

"Is being a member of the NRA evidence of a crime?" Mumford asked an agent. The judge asked jurors to disregard the question.....

Defense lawyer Matthew Schindler, who is assisting defendant Kenneth Medenbach.... pointed out that some of the identified "riflemen" listed on the documents seized aren't among the defendants indicted in the case.....

The defense is scheduled to begin presenting its evidence and witnesses Wednesday. The Rev. Franklin Graham is set to testify in court Thursday for the defense.

This is the Monday activity at the Oregon Standoff Trial with a video from a Facebook account showing people other than the defendants shooting off ammunition at a boat launch at the wildlife refuge.

The reporter demonizing the weapons being used as 'assault rifles'.

The judge allowed this prejudicial video to be used as evidence in the trial.

Ammon Bundy was arrested unarmed and his wife said that Ammon never carried a gun during the protest.

The people who showed up in this video shooting could be the crazy, FBI informant, and or false flag operator types.

The defense is set to start making its case later in the week with Rev. Franklin Graham among its witnesses.

I’d be asking Mr. Knight if the FBI or any other agency examined the spent cases for fingerprints or DNA and if they identified anyone who handled them. Further I would ask if they did get prints or DNA that belonged to Ammon Bundy.

So firing a weapon is evidence of intent to harm for the FBI?

If so, they why isn’t a private email server evidence of intent to circumvent law? That’s far more obvious a crime, since law forbids government classified email from being outside a secure system.

On the other hand, the law permits firing rifles.

And .223 is not an assault rifle. It’s a repeating rifle that takes down varmints and predators like coyotes.

I don’t get it.

how I read this is the FBI has evidence that someone somewhere fired rifles.

I don’t understand why that’s even important.

All that is clear to me now is that the FBI is led by a criminal.

The “ONLY F*CKING SHELL CASING THAT MATTERS” is the one the FBI HRT shitbag picked up and put in his pocket, after shooting Lavoy Finicum.

the FBI murdered him...
the FBI has been an obstruction of justice agency under obama...
they get intel, dont “connect the dots” and all theey do is coverup crime scenes...
the FBI is not to be trusted with the current DOJ criminals in office...
THE CONSTITUTION PROVIDES THAT THE LOCAL SHERIFF IS THE LAWFUL AUTHORITY IN CONFLICTS BETWEEN US CITIZENS AND FEDERAL AUTHORITIES...
THE FBI HAD NO AUTHORITY TO BE THERE AT ALL...MUCH LESS MURDER A US CITIZEN...
where is JUSTICE...???
THEY ARE TRYING THE WRONG PEOPLE.... THE FBI AGENT SHOULD BE ON TRIAL
they could have followed the protest group to the meeting with the sheriff they were going to see... instead they set up a trap and murdered an innocent man.
DONT THINK FOR ONE SECOND THEY CANT DO THE SAME TO ANYONE THEY CHOOSE...

"It's direct evidence of force,"

no. Direct evidence of force would be dead FBI agents. A situation I wouldn't cry over.

They could go to any gun range in America and “scoop up” .223 shell casings, or more likely steel 7.62 shells.
What does it prove? It proves that Americans were exercising their 2nd amendment rights.

“rapidly firing assault rifles” An assault rifle is capable of full auto fire. If the defendants had assault rifles, but no stamp from the Ministry of Infringing Upon the 2nd Amendment, His Royal Highness would charge them.
If they are not being charged, these were not assault rifles. More lies from the Lesters.

The BATF/Dept. of the Interior railroad continues. Why aren’t the LEOs who murdered Finicum being charged with manslaughter, like the Tulsa woman cop?

Want four more years of this statist BS? The nevertrumpers and their gal Hillary do.

The FBI planted them.

Correct on everything.

I think in this case the sheriff was appointed by the Governor and of course was a boot-licking stooge that allowed his county and whole situation to be taken over by the unaccountable Feds. Correct me if I’m wrong, but some of the other sheriff’s in the surrounding area are ‘constitutional sheriffs’ and were trying to diffuse the situation. And, let’s not forget about the video of him being shot(drone footage) and then the video from inside the car(which they weren’t expecting). And the testimony of the state police officer, identifying shell casing belonging to the state police and those belonging to the FBI and stating on record that he saw an agent pick up a casing and put it in his pocket.

Nothing to see here...move along....these aren’t the droids you’re looking for.

I think we're pretty fortunate that the FBI didn't have some of their snipers murder any mothers holding babies in this seige.

And young Victoria is lucky that Loon Horuichi is retired - he would have been smacking his lips at a chance to shooot HER through the head.

"It's direct evidence of force," Knight told the judge before she ruled that the video could be shown to jurors.

Force is not and should not be a legal problem. I have used "force" in that sense daily for a very long time - firing pistol, rifle, or usually both every day that I am not on vacation. Assuming these are serious shooters, intent to do harm would have irrefutable evidence: dead bodies. In the absence of such evidence, we can conclude that there was no intent to harm others and no crime.

As for an NRA card, I have one too, as do millions of law-abiding citizens. The people I worry about are the non-NRA members, especially thugs like Barack Hussein and his minions.

During a cross-examination of an FBI agent, defendant Ryan Bundy asked if the pocket Constitutions depicted in a photo of one of the rooms in the refuge bunkhouse were seized as evidence.

The agent said he didn’t take them. “So you did not find anything of value in there?’’ Bundy continued. The judge sustained an objection to the question from prosecutors.

During the protest in Oregon this year the sheriff in the neighboring county, Glenn Palmer, suggested talking to Ammon Bundy and the protestors.

He met with them and said publicly the Hammonds should be released from federal prison as part of a deal.

Palmer has been under constant attack from the media since and the state government is also investigating him.

A political campaign has been launched to support an opponent in the election this November.

Grant County has fewer federal employees living in it than Harney County, fewer government employees in general meaning fewer pro-land control voters in elections.

This will give Palmer a better chance of winning.

Hope he wins, running away with it. Hope the people of Palmer Cty support him to the fullest. The most powerful man/woman, anywhere in America, is the elected Sheriff. If he wins again, anytime a federal employee/agent drives thru his county, I sure hope they do felony stops on all of them.
