Like many other Americans, I got a letter last week. This letter is becoming an annual tradition, arriving on my doorstep in October to inform me of my Obamacare insurance premium hike
Last year, the letter said my Bronze plan, purchased on the marketplace formed by the, ahem, Affordable Care Act, would increase by almost 60 percent.
This year, my premium is going up 96 percent. Ninety-six percent. My monthly payment, which was the amount of a decent car payment, is now the size of a moderate mortgage. The president refers to these for thousands of citizens as “a few bugs” when to us it feels like a flameout.
For this astronomical payment, I get a plan with an astronomical deductible that my healthy family of three will likely never hit except in the most catastrophic of circumstances.

Anyone who voted for this law should be tarred and feathered and run out of DC on a rail.
I’d suggest more drastic measures but I would be banned.
All that voted for this law are GETTING EXACTLY WHAT THEY DESERVE! PERIOD!
Of course we know this was the worst piece of domestic legislation passed in our lifetime.
I do feel, however, for all the people who need / want health insurance and got screwed. The regime climbed over the back of working people for the sake of power. Untold numbers of people will die before their time because of this. They screwed over 150 million to help 20 million, most of which didn’t need it or want it.

As the author points out insurance used to be equivalent to car payment. Now it is equivalent to a mortgage. For what I pay in health insurance I could have a beautiful vacation home.
Look into the options for Christian health sharing (Medi-Share, Samaritaninistries, etc.). Even before Obama care and our costs for insurance through my husband’s employer were high. Like you said, mortgage payment high and we had no prescription coverage and a $12,000 deductible. Since we had crappy insurance anyway the Obamacare hikes didn’t seem as bad for us. He is self employed now and all others we know who are self employed use medi-share. It’s less than half the cost of insurance and it meets the government requirements even though it’s technically not insurance. If you are a Christian it’s the way to go.

Someone ought to clue in Mary Cathrine that the game was to make her pay for some bum’s healthcare, not cut her H/C expenses. And it’s only worse than projected because the young, healthy bums in our society have “opted out” of their “responsibility” to help fund healthcare. But don’t worry, when they get old and sick, they will be back with their hands out for their “freebie!”

Bill Clinton has blasted President Obama’s signature piece of legislation — ObamaCare — as “the craziest thing in the world.”
“You’ve got this crazy system where all of a sudden, 25 million more people have health care, and then the people who are out there busting it, sometimes 60 hours a week, wind up with their premiums doubled and their coverage cut in half and it’s the craziest thing in the world,” the former president railed at a rally in Michigan on Monday.
Clinton also said the system is hurting moderately successful small businesses — ones that aren’t doing poorly enough to be subsidized and fall just above the line.
“On the other hand, the current system works fine if you’re eligible for Medicaid, if you’re a lower-income working person, if you’re already on Medicare or if you get enough subsidies on a modest income that you can afford your health care,” Clinton said.
“But the people getting killed in this deal are the small-business people and individuals who make just a little bit too much to get any of these subsidies,” he added. ...”

The purpose of this law was to take money from those who work and give it those who would vote democrat.
Working as planned. People still have not read the law to find out whats in it.
I just can’t believe Obama and Clinton - and especially Pelosi and Louise Slaughter - aren’t suffering greatly for this law.
The media is truly corrupt, and many Americans are truly sheep.

The huge deductible makes it worse than the former catastrophic care plans because the OCare plans also come with huge monthly premiums.

Obamacare is proceeding according to plan. The “cure” to fix it will be in the form of Single Payer. Just think, Medicare is singloe payer for workers over age 65. And it is in very bad shape, functionally and financially. Now imagine if you will, every living person going on Medicare, including tens of million living currently in USA who were born outside of US, and have contributed nothing in Medicare taxes.
