I met him on the set of The Rough Riders (Tom Berringer was in it.) He was the nicest, most genuine man I had met up to that time. Probably still is.
Good to hear! How was Tom? I hope he's nice, too. I'm a longtime fan of both.

Tom, according to Mr. Elliot, is normally a fairly nice guy, but he had $5 million of his own money invested in ‘Rough Riders’ and he was very testy and on edge during the shoot.

Gary Busey played Joe Wheeler, who was a Confederate general during “the Unpleasantness” of 1861-1865. Joe Wheeler sought a commission to command a regiment during the Spanish-American War. During a fight, he got so excited he let slip with one of the more memorable remarks of that war: “We got the damn Yankees on the run!”

#19 In a mustache contest between Sam and Tom Selleck, who would win?
To: tumblindice
Tom Selleck would, Sam Elliot is normally clean shaven.

Sam is spot on in his assessment!
Mr. Elliott is one of my very favorite actors along with Mel Gibson!

I first saw Sam Elliott in “Once An Eagle” in the 1970’s. He played the admirable Sam Damon versus the conniver Courtney Massengale.
He later portrayed the Texas doctor who slow killed his wife with poison. Out of character for Sam.

He also attended Plumbley’ s funeral last year. Sat with CSM’ s widow.

Sorry it wasn't such a pleasant experience with Tom. But I can understand his situation, and making a movie seems to be a crapshoot. Thanks!

“I really have to agree. These ridiculous protests and riots are precisely why Trump won and why Democrats were totally rejected.”
Brilliant young intellectuals. They shut down a Trump rally in Chicago and clinched the nomination for him. Now they’re doing the same thing all over again, even though he’ll soon be President and control the DOJ. Gee, what’s going to happen then??
