I don't think most who go to Starbucks are thinking product boycott. These are likely patrons who've been going to Starbucks for years and enjoy the coffee or venue/location or whatever it is. I would suggest this is not a product boycott but a political statement by those doing this. And it seemed to work since you're reading/commenting about it.

Since I started keeping a boycott list, I spend a lot less money which is good. I also email the companies and tell them WHY I am no longer buying their products and why I encourage others not to.

Well, the one or two who aren’t Progs will get to enjoy shouting Tump’s name in front of their Prog coworkers.
But you are very wrong about this type of action. You take action based on what works with the people you are messaging. The Right is learning, but many people like yourself cannot come to understand what and who we are dealing with. It’s the 21st century. 19th century tactics do not work anymore.
